Is anyone on here freaking out over H1N1 or the Swine Flu??? It makes me a little nervous, seems like everyone in my area that keeps getting it are around my age. We have had no cases in my city or county yet. It is kind of weird how more and more people are getting the flu! Im not really freaking out, but I do wash my hands more and have been cautious around sick people! I had to get routine blood work done at our local hospital and anyone that coughed, regardless of whether they were sick or not were made to wear a hospital mask for safety reasons. Some of the people were upset because the nurses made them wear them, or they were put in isolation. My family doctor would not serve anyone with a cough who did not have a mask on......the first thing they asked was whether you visited Mexico recently or had cold like symptoms!

Hi lisa. I get a little concerned about this flu bug going on, and don't know whether there is a need to don that mask yet in public. I don't feel the need to, as long as most people just stay indoors for most of the time should be alright. In my countries, around 5, I think confirmed cases have been reported. If I'm right, that's the number. It's a worrying thing, really and I hope that the matter can be resolved soon and people get healthy again and free to roam anywhere in the world.

I am not freaking out over H1N1, because usually like around 30,000 people die from flu alon a year, and if I haven't gotten it for a long time, then most likely I won't be catching the Swine Flu... IN my state there were many confirmed cases, and even a high schooler had gotten Swine Flu, and now has recovered.. The Swine Flu is not as bad as people had said it to be, it is not a severe case anymore, the swine flu was just a major problem in Mexico, because it is dirty down there! If you walk in restaurants in Mexico, most places have rats, and pests in there!

I'm glad you brought up the fact that 30,000 people (I heard higher but still) die each year from the flu people don't seem to recognize that. I do think we have more strains of different viruses each year so I'm not concerned with the Swine Flu in general. Regards

I am not freaking out over it but I am a bit concerned as I have bronchial asthma and I also am my elderly fathers caregiver so it can be deadly for either of us. I just keep in mind that thousands die each year from many types of flu viruses is all. So this is just one that there's no vaccine created for at this time. A concern but not an overall worry just yet. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

There are certian instances, how ever the person(s) strong, there are things whiche are feared much, as the disease leaves an unplant fealing the common man. Swine flu (H1N1) also leaves bad fealing. Because the person who undergone such thing can only imagine, the bad fealing that relates. But with little care and madication one can come out after little struggle. So it better aviod it.As the english saying 'prevention is better than cure'. We seek protection from creator of this universe to protect us from such swine flu or similar for ever.

I'm not really freaking out over it, now.. At first, I was. Because they had it everywhere as it was like a amber alert, or something. Even though, I know it was a safety factor, and a warning to watch out..and make sure you're washing you're hands, etc. But they don't make much mention of it now, so I'm not really wasting my life freaking out about it. Haha.

I'm not freaking out yet, but just little nervous over this H1N1 virus. There are already cases of swine flu virus here in our country but it is still under control. We must really practice good hygiene everyday even there is no H1N1 virus.

I'm not freaking out yet. There have been about 100 cases reported in New Mexico but not in my immediate area. When I came back from PR a copy of weeks ago I comtemplated wearing a mask home but it was a fleeting moment. However there were a couple of people on my flight wearing masks. If you have a weak immune system you should be wearing a mask in public. I won't panic until it reaches my area. Hopefully it won't. Good Luck and be safe!

no. im not freaking out yet. and even though i have a 16months baby im still not freaking out. because i believe that as long as you are healthy and well nourished you will not be inflicted with it. and I've heard it has a high mortality rate. meaning high percentage of people who got infected survived and didi not die.
