The New Star Trek

The newest Star Trek movie came out about a month or so ago in the theatres, and it made some big changes to the original storyline. How did you feel about those changes? Would it have been better to be a full remake?

I just saw the new movie this weekend, and it has been years since I have watched anything of the original series, so they have probably changed even more than I noticed. Overall, I think the changes are acceptable, and it opens up a whole new direction for future movies to go in. This way, the sequels are not just remakes of the original sequels, but the writers have made it so that they can do anything that they want; either by changing it up or keeping it the same, they now have the luxury of surprising us either way.
