It's not a scam and it's not a referral gig. It's a legitimate free-account Club by Microsoft. The main idea of the games is that you actually use their Live Search engine (their version of Yahoo! and Google) while you play - so they're not actually giving things for free, though they make it seem like so. Their biggest prize is an XBox360 system (20 gig) but smaller prizes ranging from ringtones to frequent flyer miles are also offered for smaller number of tickets earned :) If you're the type who stays at home and has pretty much a lot of time on their hands, I suggest you try this out!
