When we get vaccines, how do you decribe the feeling? Before getting, upon getting and after getting a vaccine, how does it make you feel?

When I was young, I was very afraid of getting vaccines and anything that is injected via syringes! As I remember I always run from the nurse that will give me the vaccine and I cry a lot way back because of that. But now, I'm not afraid of it anymore considering I am a nursing student and I am now the one who makes those young ones cry because of vaccines. :)

Tell me about it. Getting vaccines when you were young is really scary and makes you nervous. I still get nervous when I get vaccinated and I do not look on the syringe during injection because it might make my muscles not to relax which could make the procedure more painful. I love to inject babies too! A duty in the health center is really fun and a wonderful experience when it comes to vaccines because there are lots of babies that would be vaccinated.

I remember as a kid being forced down by my mother and usually a nurse or another doctor and being forced to take some of the most painful vaccines in my life. To this date, I am absolutely terrified of needles. When I was in the hospital going through labor with my DD, my husband who is an RN, was the only one I'd let give me anything with a needle, except for my epidural. My husband started my IVs and gave me the pain shots, but it still hurt like heck. I hate them. Absolutely hate them.

I tend to get nervous about vaccines, because I don't really like needles very much. The actual injection usually doesn't hurt all that much- the nervousness before hand is actually worse. The last time I had a vaccination, I was nervous before the injection but the actual injection went just fine (or so I thought). But when I stood up to leave, I fainted. I had been holding my breath through the whole process because I was so tense, and I hadn't even realized it! That's the only time I ever fainted, though. I've had a lot of other injections and never had a real problem with any of them.
