Hi all, What would you do when you found some money on the street? Do you keep it yourself? Looking for the owner? Put it in on charity box? Or something else ... Just want to know your opinion on this?

Hi otnatstreess, Thanks for your comment. You have a great idea. You must full of it, I think. Hope when I found a briefcase full of money, it is not mafia own one. Otherwise life will be a hell after that.

I was once told that the risk of catching a disease from a penny picked up off the street outweighed the value of the extra money.

I think it depends on the amount, normally when walking on the streets you'll only see coins which is very rare also, lol. If I found some money on the street and it was a big amount, I'll take it and give to the police. But If it's a coin I'll take it and keep it to myself.

Hi Cjay77, I also think that way. There is no point to waste our precious time to go to police station just for some coins. Maybe you can keep it :).

if the money that i got is really a big amount i would return that to the police but if its small amount like 100- 200 bucks or something like that i will not waste my time to return them to the police rather i would take that and enjoy or i will donate that to some charity trust.

Hi chandana1, Yes, you are right about returning back to the police. On the second part, 100-200 bucks is consider big amount in my country. I think I will still looking for the right owner for that amount. It is nice to see someone else smiling face (to get back what he/she already lose).

It depends on how much money i found on the street, if it is a big amount, i will give it to the police, but if it is in the small amount, i will buy some foods and ask some of my best friends to enjoy together.

I would definatly keep it ... and consider it my gain... I know it sounds rude to some,.... but giving it to the police is putting it in their pockets .. I would definatly Need the money and put it to good use ... There is no way of the police finding the rightful owner it was probley given back to them out of a cash register that came from someone else out of their wallet which they got back from some other cash register ... there is no way to trak something like that ... I would love to find money!!

Hi kaci25, Maybe you are right that the police cannot be trusted when dealing with money. But, other then enjoying it yourself, I think it is better if we can put that money on charity fund. That is not our money, at the first place.

If you find money on the street there is no way to find the rightful owner, so I conceder it a gift from God. Usually, when I find money.. I am in need of it.. to pay a bill or something. I like the idea of putting in for charity.. but.. usually I need it... If I have extra money I give to charity.. so. Thats what I do with it

hi Italysmom, Maybe you are right. Maybe that is a gift from God. I remember when I still a kid, I always hope that I could fine money so I can buy candies. Or maybe toys. Its funny to remember back that memories.

You must assure only money or a wallet. If a wallet, it maybe have ID and driver license and so on, I will stay there first to wait the owner, if the owner don't come, I will give it to cop. Because I lost my wallet before, so many important things inside, at that time I am so upset. If only money, and not too much, I will keep it. If too much, I will give it to cop.

Hi xichen7, To loose a wallet is a nightmare situation especially when there is also our most important document. We have to make a police report, get a new ID card, go to bank to cancel our ATM card and make a new one and so on. So you keep if that is only a small change like most of us will do. I think that is a normal practice. People didn't bother to a small change the lose. But for a large quantity of money we must bring it to the police station and make a report. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.
