A lot of people do not like Cheney, Im one of them, i really don't like him but this story and video made me soften a little bit on him http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/01/cheney-offers-his-support_n_209869.html When he was vice president i don't ever recall him saying anything like that and im sure the reason was that he had to follow the policies of Bush, and i had known that he had a gay daughter so the fact that he never really expressed a support for gay marriage until now had always bothered me, but now that he finally has expressed his view that "freedom means freedom for everyone" he got some points in my book, i still for the most part dislike all of his other views, but this made me see him in a softer and kinder light a little bit.... after that story and video, how do you feel about Cheney?

cheney's hunting incident certainly comes to mind when I hear his name, along with "other" things. when I read about this earlier today, I thought the beefing up of the campaign has worked! all allies are certainly needed now, cheney or the like. as to how I feel about him now, I still have reservations. for now, the hunting incident flashback scenes will be mitigated with his offer of support for gay marraige.. maybe hurrah for him:)

Sorry, I wasn't refering to you specifically. I was being facetious about a lot of people on the left who have been calling for Cheney to "shut up"... yet now that he comes out in favor of something they like, they're glad he's talking. ;~D

well im the future i would be appreciative if you didn't lump me into the whole of the "left" i try to be the kind of person that hears both sides and doesnt just say "im a democrat and cheney can kiss my butt"...aside from issues that have to do with prejudices,,,,i really try to not be totally biased,,,,bush is my weakpoint but im not like a lot of people who have extreme ideas about politics, if someone has something intelligent and thoughtful to say, then i listen to it and think about it whether it follows my views or not....so i do take offense to you trying to lump me with everyone else

I'm trying to remember exactly what he had to say on the topic back during the 2000 and 2004 elections. I DO remember his outrage when Kerry said something in a debate about his daughter being gay but I can't remember the details anymore. I can't quite imagine ever seeing the D1ck in a soft or kind light but I'll give him credit for being on the right side of this one issue. I won't call for him to shut up and go away if he sticks to the issues where he's able to make some sense and those he knows something about! Annie
