I always see sopme advertisement about "I earn $300 on ebay within..." I don't browse ebay for stuff so I don't really know what people maninly sell, only new stuff or used stuff as well? I wonder if I could give it a shot, take pictures of some of the "useful" junk stuff at home and put it on ebay, see anybody is interested! Has anbody done that? It's just like a yard sale but it is on the internet.

People sell pretty much any and everything on Ebay. In recent times, Ebay has come under fire by watchdog groups. And, as nearly everyone else has said, the fees will really eat into your bottom line. Fortunately, there are many many online auction houses whereas there are no fees or the fees are so little. Good luck mermaidivy! Let us know how it goes for you.

Is Ebay the most common online auction website that most people go? I don't do auction on the internet so I don't know. Thanks for responding! :-)

I've sold a variety of things on ebay. I own my own website (which is in my profile if your interested!) on which I sell jewellery and accessories that are hand-made. If I have items that haven't sold well or aren't selling I often put them on ebay to try and sell them there. It works but I often sell them for less than I would like! I have been selling a lot of my stuff recently on ebay as I'm moving to a smaller house at the end of June so need to get rid of a lot of my stuff. What I do is put it up on ebay to see if it sells and if it does, well it's all good and if it doesn't I send it off to a charity shop. I've made quite a bit off ebay recently.

If you put up stuff in the auction style format with a starting price of £0.99 you are not charged anything for placing it up but you are charged if it sells, putting a higher starting price or selling in a buy it now format is charged as well.
