Goodbye Money

I just signed my son up for a two week swimming class that cost $40.00. I think its important to learn to swim and think the experience would be worth every penny. Sadly on day two he came down with a fever. The doctor says it is another ear infection. No swimming for a week. Swimming class = Non Refundable. Goodbye Money. Can you relate?

I can relate fully. There has been more than one incident where I have had to pay for something for college or something of that relation then have to give it up. It makes you feel like the good you are doing was for nothing. The only thing I could even start to suggest doing is explaining the situation to the manager...because the " no refund policies" are pretty tight. -Al

yes... that is exactly how it feels... but not just for the lessons. It seems like we are doing everything we can to help my son fight off ear infections. We've had two sets of ear tubes, adnoids removed, and we do everything the doctors suggest, but it seems like its all for nothing. Thanks for sympathizing to bad the fitness facility didn't, i just wish they could fit us into the next session.

I've requested but they say that all of the summer classes are full. Its just too bad.

Doesn't that leave a few days left for him? Or will they not let someone rejoin the class after missing it so long. It's just too bad. You had such a good idea, pretty much a necessary thing for a child, and it backfired. It makes me sick when unexpected things pop up that force people to lose money. Like a Woman of Faith conference I paid fifty dollars for about five years ago. The first night I was there and enjoying it. But the second and final day I was down with a migraine.

Oooh Migraines are the worst. That is so sad to loose that money when you were putting it towards such a great activity. I wonder why things work out the way they do... I took my son back for swimming today, but it was misery. He kept tugging on his ear and crying. So sad... I guess we will take another day off and see if it gets better.

Hey, Whoa, that isn't good! $40 is quite a lot of money, I mean, you just threw it away and since it is non refundable, you lost it all. But yes it is worth it, my mother also took me for swimming lessons, it is worth every penny! Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Yeah it seems like kids are never ending with their need for funding...I say this as I shelled out $40 for a social studies project due 2 weeks ago for my 4th grader...don't get me wrong I think it's great that he have the supplies to do the project, but clearly that $40 was not in my budget...turns out one of the other girls in the classroom brought in her ipod touch and I guess stole all the kid's thunder :( He ended up getting an A on the paper, but every time I turn around there's SOMETHING I've gotta shell money out for.... *sigh* life as a parent...
