with the nightmares that might happen when parents have to entrust the care of a child to a babysitter what qualifications do you have so as to prevent, as much as possible, any unfortunate accidents?

If I will have to leave my child to attend a meeting or a party only for adults then I will leave him with his grandparents either maternal or paternal to be sure that he is in good hands because I trust them, Yo be honest with you then I fear that I cannot trust anyone else to look after my child in my absence, I prefer the grandparents. And if ever both grand parents are out then I will ask one of my sisters or my best friend to look after my baby. For someone to choose a babysitter I think he should look if the babysitter is enough qualified to stand to all the tantrums of a child and he/she should be aring and affection with atleast 3 years of experience.

my husband and i are totally on our own. we live far away from any of our relatives so we had no choice but to choose a babysitter before.

Babysitting is a serious job because babies are innocent human beings and taking care of them should be serious but still fun. One must be very patient enough because children have different moods. Next would be they should love children in their nature so that they would love what they would do and not have a hard time, also so that they would still have fun even if sometimes it's hard.

I guess the first thing is that the babysitter should love babies, not just take on babysitting because they need a job or whatever. They must sincerely love babies and has the know-how to take care of them and handle delicate situations, most especially tantrums. But if I had a choice, I'd always call on my parents to look after my baby when I'm going out.
