Last night I fell asleep on the couch while reading and dreamt something about going through a door, then kicking it shut. Then I heard a crash and woke up. Seems I kicked out in reality and knocked my cup and some books off the coffee table. Another time, I was dreaming I was fighting someone and when I punched him in the face, I actually punched the headboard. I hit it so hard I thought I broke my wrist! (Only sprained it.) So, How actively do you participate in your dreams?

I went through a spell when I was around 10 or 11 that I had the same dream several times - I mean a week or two apart but for 3 or 4 months. In the dream I was falling it was so real, I was up in the sky and falling through clouds. Sometimes they where heave clouds sometimes just light fluffy ones. Every time when I was just about to hit the ground I would wake up - I was on the floor next to my bed :( I didn't say anything to my Mom because I felt stupid I mean that age and still falling out of bed. Then one day my Mom decided to re-arrange my bedroom. In the process she turned my bed so it was facing a different direction (north/south). I never fell out of bed again nor had that dream since but I can't sleep without my bed facing north & south.

I've been placing my bed on the diagonal for the past 20 years. I visited a friend for a few days and the bed there was against the wall. One morning soon after I got home again, I was dreaming I was back at my friend's. I opened my eyes I realized I was home, but the thing is, I could "feel" myself swiveling around... say from S/N to NW/SE. I closed my eyes and felt like I was swiveling back to the other orientation, then back again when I opened my eyes a second time. It was a very weird feeling.

That is strange but although my bed is n/s I've noticed the same thing the last few weeks. I haven't been sleeping well but if I turn diagonal in my bed I tend to sleep better - would be NW-SE for me, wonder if the poles gravitational pulls are changing or something.

You may be on to something... I heard that the earth shifted slightly on its axis as a result of that big tsunami a few years back. And doesn't the magnetic north pole wander around some?

Goodness....sounds like you have rather violent dreams....LOL. The only thing I seem to dream about or at least those few minutes before waking up is needing to write an email...I see myself in front of my computer typing ....yes, apparently I even dream about computers. Then I wake up and realize...like huh? I'm in bed!

When I worked in the graphics field, I would sometimes dream about doing the same kind of work, but often in a Dickensian setting...

I do dream but I just mostly toss and turn, never ended up knocking things over or kicking the headboard or anything like that. Wow though this is very interesting that all of this happens to you when you dream.

Yeah, just this morning, I was half-awake and dreaming about taking a bite of pepperoni and ended up biting my tongue! What a way to wake up.

Not me but my soccer-playing daughter has been known to kick in her sleep. She was kicking the wall and wondered why her foot was sore when she woke up in the morning. I have moved around and banged into stuff near my bed while sleeping but not as a result of a dream I don't think.

generally speaking, if I do move in my sleep, I wake myself up, so I guess I could say - not much.
