ultrasound and a CPT

ok my 6 year old has to have ultrasound on her bladder and kidneys. But my questions is does anyone know what a CPT is? or how it is done or any have there child go threw this. thanks in advance

I don't know what a CPT is, but my youngest son has had his kidneys and bladder tested before. When he was just a baby he was terribly sick and had to have x-rays done. They used a catheter with a special ink to see if there were any problems with his kidneys, if I remember right. Not a pleasant experience for him or me.

we have decided they can do the ultrasound but no catheders are gonna be used on her. she is 6 with adhd and autism and we are not sure how she would act with the catherder being done

Bless her little heart! My oldest is autistic and I couldn't imagine him having to have a catheter. It was scary enough when he had to have blood work done a few years ago. Did your daughter have the ultrasound done yet?

I have never heard of it why didn't you ask the doctor? I think it might be another imaging test, like a PET, they can see the problem by a computer, that is my best bet but you need to ask your doctor.

they did mention something about a catherder but the doctor wasn't to sure about how it was done either

she has test done tomorrow i told them no to a catherder
