Always thinking about money?

I always think about money. I'm not sure there's a minute in the day where I'm not thinking about money. Right now I'm thinking about earning money, that's why I'm on Mylot. I'm also working on my click sites and other sites that earn me a little money. Later I'll be making my grocery list for tomorrow, and I'll be thinking about how to cut back a little on my groceries this week in order to pay my bills. I'll also be looking over my coupons I've printed out, and trying to find more on the internet somewhere. I'll also be thinking about what bills we have to pay this week and whether or not we can afford them. When I go to the library I'll be thinking about that overdue fee that I have on my husband's card, which I can't afford to pay this week, but I do want it paid soon so we can use his card again. Whenever I drive somewhere I think about how much gas I'm using, and how I need to make it last until payday, and on payday I can only afford so much to get me through the next week. No matter what, I'm always thinking about money! Wishing I had more, at least enough to go around. Do you think if we had more money we'd think about it less? How often do you think about money?

please don't think about money if you have enough money to live. thinking about money can lead to illegal activities. try to work hard on what are you doing. money will come automatically. also thinking about money always is not good for health. live healthy life that will give you satisfaction.

Kat - That's my EVERYDAY! Don't forget the "If I put this in the charge will I still be able to afford atleast the minimum payment?" "Should I use the card and pay on it on pay day what I needed today but don't have the money til a few days?" My hubby says I'm obcessed. I don't think I'm obcessed. When a person doesn't have alot to go around one is always concerned about it. It's only taken him how many years to get on the bandwagon with me on alot of the things I do to save us a buck. Like he hated when I line dried the wash... now he doesn't mind if it knocks the utility bill down. But he likes it even better if he can use that money & spend it on BS *sigh*

Mine's the same way. I do everything I can to save a dime and earn a dime... then he goes and gets fast food at lunch, or wants us to go out to eat every weekend (I don't always complain there!). Then, at the same time, he'll wear out his boots until he's litterally walking out of them, and won't get himself new boots, and won't tell me he needs them. But then we go to the mall and he'll spend $30 on video games and tell me I can spend $30 at Bath and Body works. OMG! Where are your priorities man?

Hey Kats~ Unfortunately, I think that most of us are always thinking about money and how we can try to save some! I know I am! I think that I spend just about every waking hour trying to figure out ways to try to save money! If it's not with coupons, it's trying to cut down on electricity or something else and it really is so very stressful! I just don't know what to do anymore! I lay in bed awake at night trying to figure out ways to save money and that is just not healthy because I can't get to sleep! Why do we do this to ourselves?

Do we do it to ourselves, or does society do it to us? I just keep thinking there used to be a time when the world did not revolve around money. People had time to enjoy life while still making a living. There was once a time the men worked a regular job, mom took care of the kids, and dad's income supported the family rather well, they had a house, and they even supported their elders when they got too old to support themselves. After all this they still could afford vacations in the summer and stuff. I can't think about it too much or I'll get angry! I don't think it's fair we have to live the way we do.

I read your post and felt that I could have written it myself. I too have been obsessing on earning money. I guess its due to the fact that my bills have skyrocketed and that my income has been greatly reduced. I'm trying to stop obsessing, because I find its taking its toll on my health. I'm having trouble sleeping at night and am always worried about how to pay the next bill. I've decided to try to focus on other things, since I will not be able to solve my economic situation overnight. Somehow, I'll get through, but its not worth the mental agony I put myself through. I think I've learned a hard lesson, and have been forced to re-think my spending habits. I'm glad though, because my kids see the situation, and vow it will not happen to them. If something good comes out of it, I hope its that they learn the value of saving and living frugally. Focus on the good things in your life, and little by little the money situation will work out.

I try not to think about too much but it is always there in the back of my mind. Whenever I am going to buy anything or something comes up unexpectedly money is the first thing I think of. Can we afford this? How is this going to affect the next couple of weeks? I think there are alot more people doing the same thing. Things have just gotten alot more expensive but you have to continue to live. The most frustrating thing for me is that we live quite frugally already and there really isn't much more room to cut back. The few places that we could cut back are out of the question. Lowering the electric bill by not using the a/c...not happening living in Florida during the summer. And, my husband refuses to get rid of the cell phones. Hopefully things can only get better and easier.

Oh I know. We're in the same boat. The only thing I can cut back is my Internet... and that is not going to happen. We don't have cell phones, we don't have cable, we don't have car payments. OH... we have a membership to Blockbuster.com that costs us $20 a month, but if we get rid of that then we'll need entertainment which we'll probably spend money on and renting 4 videos a month at the video store is equal to my blockbuster membership and I get far more than 4 videos a month. I also go to the library for some extra videos too for free, and books of course. I don't see where or how I can cut back any further.

I know exactly what you mean, and when I found ways to make money on the web, I spend more time trying to figure out how to make more. But I try to keep it to a minimum, and not all the time. I feel like I'm wasting my time away thinking aobut it that I'm not living in the moment. I still have to enjoy things in life. But sometimes it just takes over.

Well, it is the way with most of the people who belong to middle class. They keep thinking about the money, the ways to save money, cut on their bills etc. Most people think that even if we have enough money we will not be satisfied and think more ways to earn more or to spend money. But it is not the way with me. I mean if I have enough money, I will think less of money.

Like you I think about money a lot. It's not that I like money, or have an unhealthy obsession with it. It just so happens that everything in life seems to revolve around it. And it's something to look over your shoulder about. Something to put the limits for. Something to calculate and make sure that you are using it in the best way that you can.

Hi Kat, I have to say that it is always on my mind as well, my husband is a freak when it comes to saving money and drives me nuts about it so like you I am always thinking of ways I can cut back, things I can do to earn money to support my shopping habits. Plus recently he changed jobs, resulting in no commission for a couple of months, this being one of the them. The main source of our income is from his commission's therefore things are going to be tight for a while for us. As far as coupons go I found a trick with them that I will share with you. My main grocery store allows me to download coupons to my frequent shopper card. there are many sites you can do this on. IM me and I will give you the links (I do not want to get your discussion deleted) Anyway one of them is P&G, which also has great coupons in the newspaper. the great thing about downloading coupons to your shopper card is you can also used clipped coupons from the paper or ones you have printed from your computer along with the ones you download. So if you download $1.00 off of dish detergent and you get a $.50 coupon out of the paper, you can get it for almost nothing, and if by chance it is on sale you can get it for nothing. I did my grocery shopping yesterday, I was able to save so much. Prior to my coupons and shopper card my bill was right at 200.00 after my shopper card was swiped and she went through my coupons I was at $78.00, which is for a family of five, I think what I ended up paying for was meat, lunch meat for my husband and some snacks. Not bad... again im me for the links ot the sites I am able to download the coupons from.

You are not alone in this category. Any one with a sane mind thinks along the same line. But you seem to be little more responsible towards your home. A typical lady attitude. Just enjoy doing your work but once in a while if you fail dont blame others at home, just be cool, and be focused. Good luck and may God bless you. meapas

I probably think about it more than you, haha. I also do the gas thing. I have a daughter, I'm on maternity and my EI is running out. I can't find a job in this recession and I am overqualified. I'm a single mom, I have food to put on the table and clothes to put on the back. This mom needs to win the lottery!! and soon! car payments, car insurance, debt payments, c.c payments ... wish someone would send me money in the mail instead of asking lol, but I guess that is just life. Money is the root of all evil, yet we can't live without it.

hi - everyone think about money as money is first and last essential to carry life everyday. I am earning money at extra time doing some work from home as a freelancer from this site. http://www.projectcolony.com/ so I do not worry for money as whatever I have in my luck I can collect. If you know some special work i.e. website making, photoshop, banner design etc. then from home you can earn money as a freelancer from the site and from other sites too.

Do you think if we had more money we'd think about it less? No, we would be thinking how are we going to get to the next million! I think about it but God always provides and even though sometimes the cupboards are bare there is food on the table!

Who among us don't need money? It is how the we live in this world if we don't have money how can we survive? The problem of all of us is money I always thinking about that everyday. How can earn money online and how much money I needed to my to survive everyday. It is difficult if you have a lot of financial problems because all you can think of is money. If only we don't need money to survive but it is the reality. Sometimes I always think it is good to be rich so spending is not a problem.

Since the last two months I resigned from work and is currently doing a 'home from work' job I started thinking more about money. I just then realized that i am still far from my goal on saving up just to make sure I do not get bankrupt anytime soon because of bills to pay. Especially with the crisis we have today, everybody is having a hard time with money.
