i knew it would come eventually! the reality show about a couple with a set of twins and then set of multiples has finally reached enquirer status! what started out with a heavyset woman and plain looking man trying to get thru a single day with all those babies without collapsing has now turned into a nightmare. it was inevitable i think that the fame would get to them. who would have thought they would have twins then multiples and that a television network would want to do a reality series on them. i do understand that the network films everything and cuts and pastes what they think will get ratings without totally misrepresenting the gosselins. now all of a sudden there are allegations of infidelity. i dont know what to think. i feel bad for the children. i dont watch the show on a regular basis because listening to the way the children talk and/or behave makes me want to scream! the twins talk as if they are grown women and the younger children are constantly whining. i do understand that all kids whine or try to act older but this is more than that. its no secret that the mom, kate, is controlling and has ocd issues. i have two children and know that things are always in their place. how would she expect hers to do that. its clear to see that she has evolved since the first season. in my opinion, she is very much into kate not being mom. she doesnt treat jon with love. this is reality television and i am sure this is the way the network has planned. is it worth the love of a husband/wife to allow the entire world think that you're a controlling bi*ch and your husband is a pushover more interested in his toys and entertainment? would you risk your relationship and/or the well being of your children for a television show? please explain.....

there isn't a dollar amount worth having my family picked apart on a reality show.
media thinks nothing of destroying families for ratings.
not to mention having no privacy whatsoever.

I think I would have done it. However, I am smart enough to know that if I am on television that I have to be careful because 9 out of 10 times there are people watching your every move just waiting for you to pick your nose so they can report on it.I would have only done it making sure the show was still designed to tell about the trials and tribulations as well as the good and bad things that happen in our family. dl

Cher I couldnt have said it Better! I think that it started out with good intentions. The mom, Kate, she is controlling and thinks she is the best thing that happened to TLC and the rest of the world, Oh and to her man too. lol. She thinks it makes her look good. NOT! She is a monster. Not so fast Dad! In the beginning he seemed so intelligent. I find it very hard to believe that he would be stupid enough to allow himself to be portrayed as a victim if it wasnt planned or he didnt like it. As far as the other show with the 18 kids, I know they own a property or two but come on! It would take a high rise to support the Duggar tribe in the manner they live in. THe house they built alone cost a pretty penny. I go to church every sunday so I am not being disrespectful to religious families. I am saying that I think they use their religion to get donations. If they were in certain denominations people arent expected to give their neighbors all their money in order to go to heaven.God doesnt work that way no matter what bible you read. What about the older children! Mrs Duggar doesnt take care of the toddlers the older children do. I can understand once in a while. What teen do you know that wants to watch their younger, preschool aged children 24 hours a day. TO my knowledge NONE would want to. Thanks for your response.dl

I remember at the end of last season he said he would like to quit the show. She was forceful in her declaration that they continue the show because it made her happy. I also have never heard a wife talk to her husband as she does without that couple eventually getting divorced. Sad thing? The twin Maddy acts just like Kate. Bossy, demanding...She's just a kid, but learning by her mother's example.

I remember watching the show early on, and thinking Kate travels on a broom and that no wonder Jon escapes into his toys and skiing and other things - the woman is never ever even close to nice to him.
First off I can't imagine having those camera crews in my house all the time, not for any amount of money. And I can't imagine having that many kids.
The kids are whiney and spoiled.
Now I have watched the Duggars..and their brood. There are 18 kids I think now but they at least seem happy and not at all like a dysfunctional family.
Table for 10 is another one, somehow those people are likable -- Kate is scary. Even Little people, they have their problems but the family members do care for each other.

Hey Deb! If you ask me I think they are all cooks in one way or another. I too have thought Kate is such a nasty and controlling person. However, could Jon really be that much of a victim even after all these seasons. I doubt it! He is not a fool. In some of the episodes they show him becoming very agitated at Kate then they cut it. I am not sure after listening to some of the responses that this may all be for ratings. It went to far and now they are upset at the outcome. We see this everyday someone in show business is always caught doing or saying something they shouldn't. Could they really be that naive that they thought it wouldn't happen to them. As far as the DUggars go, I don't think anyone's god wants you to have a ton of kids that rely on others to get them thru. Sure all these kids got them a tv show but the one thing that is happening is the alone time that children spend with mom or dad is gone. I'm sorry I think the Duggars are having more kids for publicity. They don't care for them the older siblings are. The little people are interesting to watch how they manage day to day. Have you ever looked at the twin boy Zach? He never smiles. That child is clearly depressed. Help him before it's too late. The mom is neurotic and the father is not focused or able to complete anything. My point is that these reality shows start off sweet but with tabloids, and paparazzi they lose their anonymity. This type of show should end with people still liking them and wondering what ever happened. Not use it until its almost obnoxious. Just my thoughts. dl

I loved watching this show and think that she is crazy. She treats Jon like crazy all the time and I feel so sorry for him. I do think it is sad that the kids have to go through it all. The last season Jon said he didn't really want to do it anymore. He didn't feel like himself anymore but Kate kept on. I thought for sure that would be the end of it. I wasn't surprised to hear he cheated on her. I know if my marriage was in trouble I would choose my marriage over the show or a book tour. Who cares who would be upset. There are understanding people out there. She is money hungry. Now that other women is getting a show. The one who had the 8 babies just to get the attention. I won't be watching it b/c I don't think she is right for doing it and I can't believe someone signed a deal with her to get her on tv.

I fully agree! If you look back to the beginning she didnt look anything like she does now. She is a controlling chic. I think that they have made enough money and it should be done. To be honest I would have taken the chance to be on television as well. It is a once in a lifetime experience. However, they shouldve realized that they would be put under a microscope so dont do things that could cause you negative publicity. I feel so bad when I think how the kids will or do feel if and when they hear all the negative publicity. As far as Jon goes, I too feel bad for him. We must realize that Kate was probably decision maker and Jon was the man behind the scenes. Sometimes though I do think that Jon is acting in this manner just so if he is found out people will say she drove him toward his indiscretion. Jon is an educated man. I dont honestly think he's that stupid. I would be willing to bet this is all calculated by him to come out the poor victim led to the arms of another because his wife is so abusive. THe one thing that I am sure of with Kate is that she's trying to be too perfect. I think this may make her come off hard. I only hope they will quit before the kids are permanently effected like some of the other child stars of the past. THanks dl

I think with that number of kids that this is a good way to ensure financial health. How would a soon to be single mother afford to raise 8 kids on her own. This way at least they can afford to live decent lives and can afford to pay for the mental health bills in the future.

You are absolutely right. I would do it in a minute. My only concern is that these people must have read a newspaper or watch television. They must have realized that fame has its downsides. Of course there will be temptations of all kinds when fame and money become a part of the equation. They should have been smart enough to realize that nothing is private when you become famous. It comes with the territory. Unfortunately, the children are in the middle of it. The people who say that the children are overworked or exploited are just miserable busy bodies that have nothing better to do. If I had the chance I would definately take it. THanks dl

I don't think all of that drama is healthy for any family. I am not really interested in this particular drama, or any drama for that matter, but I do feel sorry for those poor little kids.

Its getting a bit ridiculous. I mean I thought kate was a biatch but Jon is worse! He is totally putting her face in all of this. I feel bad for her that the kids have to go through this. THis is why choosing to have 6 babies after already having a set of twins isnt always a good idea. I know nothing is written in stone. However, they had these attitudes before the kids. What did they think was going to happen? THey got worse. Fame destroys families. dl

I cannot imagine living with the stress of having cameras (and PEOPLE operating those cameras) on me every waking moment of ANY day, much less EVERY day. I remember being a kid and being completely awed by triplets, a natural set. Our kids wont ever have that, not when the "norm" is 4 or more at your local fertility clinic.a multi-faceted kind of sad for the kids.

I can see every ones point, but at the same time to me its like. They don't care what any of us think. I certainly don't honestly care what anyone except my family thinks about me.
I think that later on those kids are going to have to deal with some bs and teasing and such over the show but right now they are only five, and its not like they are mobbed by the paparazzi all the time.
They got pictures of Jon spending a lot of time with a 23 year old teacher, a third grade teacher, as a matter of fact, while Kate was traveling.
He has never actually come out and said that he had an affair with this girl, all he said was that he was sorry for his actions. Then Kate was spending a lot of "extra" time with her body guard.
Maybe it was just a ploy to get rating ups, and if it was then its a shame, if it wasn't, or if they did have some kind of swinger thing going on... Which you can tell from my other posts that I am not altogether against... Then its a shame that the kids had to think that there was something wrong with their family...
Its normal for people to stray, and even though we as people don't really talk about it, people have 3 kinds of affairs. The ones that no one ever knows about, the ones they get caught for and the ones that don't count because you had an adult conversation with your partner about a human, basic need being fulfilled.
As long as no lives are ripped apart its not that big of a deal... I think anyway..
So, I guess it is bad because they are on tv and eventually their kids are going to find out...
Well, crud. I'm torn.

You have some good points. I wouldnt be surprised if this was all for ratings. Just their attitudes make think that. I dont care what either of them do as long as they dont use public opinion as the reason they have strayed or not acted as they should have. If anything we all know reality television is based on the startle effect. As long as they keep us shocked or curious we will be tuned in for every episode. So who cares if america thinks they cheated. They're getting rich for it. Hell they can afford the best psychiatrists to fix any issues this may cause. Shame on both of them! thanks dl
