Hey guys, this year at college i have a subject called "Energy Conservation" to study. So all this year i have been working on conserving the energy and protecting the nature as far as i could. It really hurts me when people just leave rooms with the lights all on and not caring abt saving energy. Little things like that do add up you know. So tell me do you guys do something to protect the environment or do you take it for granted???

Hi Sidharthjeevan, I recycle as much as I posinly can and have energy saving lightbulbs in all rooms, if I am on the computer or watching tv in the evening I have enough light from the screens so don't even turn the lights on and in the winter rather than put the heating on will just put on an extra layer of clothing and have a snuggle blanket for sitting in the evening. I do try to do all I can. Huggles. Ellie :D

Yes I do. Some of which are as follows: 1. Plant trees. 2. Throw garbage properly. 3. Conserve water. 4. Conserve energy. 5. Use the right gasoline for the car. 6. Not smoking 7. Cleaning inside and outside the house.

since 2002, after my course on environmental studies i m more cautious of energy savings & littering. Yes, i do my bit by puttin off light whnever i am going out, putting off the AC once hte room is cool, avoiding spinning my clothes for drying in summer & switching off my monitor when im out for lunch. We can all save the planet by doing our little part... lets start today..u and me...conserve energy..........

We strive to do better and better. We work to grow as much of our food organically as possible. We are always learning in that department. I work over ten miles from home. I cycle back and forth to work whenever physically possible. It saves me over a hundred dollars in gasoline every month. We use the local recycling program that is in place in our area. I just find it better to try and recycle it ourselves whenever possible. We are far from perfect though and produce enough pollution and garbage in our own way. It is important to always be trying to do better.

We are working on recycling our trash this year. It means we have to separate it and drive it to different recycling centers. I am not sure yet if we are really helping since we have to drive to dispose of the separate things.

I tend to recycle my rubbish alot more now.Where i live we have a big blue bin to put plastic bottles in also to put paper in which do get recycled which then leaves a lot more room in my other bin for rubbish that can not be recycled.Just seeing a large amount of room in my black bin shows me that a large amount of rubbish i was throwing away for years could have been recycled. This makes me feel good knowing i am doing my bit for the environment.

There are definitely times when I take it for granted! Like right now, the lights in the office are on. I dont have a choice if I want to be able to see - there arent any windows. I think that too many buildings are like this so we are constantly wasting energy! I am always looking for more ways to save energy. Occasionally I actually come up with something new! But all of the tips you hear about really do help. The thing that gets me the most is how much trash people produce! I know tons of people who dont bother to recycle. I know more people who dont care about how much trash they have! Trash day is always disgusting to me because of how much trash I see people producing! My husband and I produce very little trash - it is one less thing to worry about each week and really quite simple once you make a few changes!

I am guilty of taking these things for granted, but I'm trying to improve! The last time I needed laundry detergent, there's a new kind. It comes in a little plastic bag, and there are 20 tiny plastic bags inside, each filled with detergent. All you do is throw in the detergent bag, the bag disolves with the wash, and the bag they all come in is recyclable! So, no big bottles or boxes to throw away and add to all the garbage!! Also, I am trying to keep the water off while I brush my teeth. It's such a habit to keep it running. I also have a very gas efficient car...So, I guess every little bit counts!! Take care!
