Trying something new

I am trying something new today. I have been having sinus and respiratory problems do to an intestinal issue. Today I went to the pharmacy to get some more acidophilus and I found a chewable tablet. When I was a child I hated swallowing pills and always asked the doctor for liquid or chewables. I just couldn't swallow pills. I now have a trick for this and I rarely use chewable anything other than vitamin C on occasion because it isn't supposed to be good for your teeth but I thought I would give this product a try because access to water to swallow capsules isn't always convenient. The supplement is from Mason, which is a brand I have never tried before and I am often skeptical of vitamins and such purchased in drug stores. So far so good though; I chewed a couple before I had my salad and a few more just now and I can feel it taking affect. There were also more parts per billion in the chewables than the capsules I usually get. Go figure. Have you made any new discoveries that have been good for your health recently?

I have always have problems taking medicines and even vitamins. But my mother taught me this trick when I was very little. I would eat banana and before swallowing it I put the tablet in. That makes it so much easier as bananas slide easily into our oesophagus. Anyway, what's something new I have tried lately? I found this book called Eat right for your type and it has helped me solved my problem with bloating, indigestion, and hyper acidity. Knowing what food causes them and which ones I can digest and a whole lot more is such a big help.

I used to think all fruits and vegetables are good to eat. But when I had hyper acidity it was because of the papaya salad I had. As it turned out, papaya is one of the fruits I should avoid. I could have never known. I have always liked papaya and not have a problem until one day. I thought I was just having one of those indigestion episodes.

Papaya is actually good for digestion due to an enzyme called Papain. You were probably eating too much and when you combine that with whatever other internal issue you were having your intestines were probably in overdrive. How does the book you mentioned identify different types of eaters?

That sounds like a very good book. I try to only eat certain types of foods and leave the ones that don't make me feel good alone. I like to have a lot of fruit and vegetables but it is not always convenient.

Nothing, really, except that what I suspected was gluten intolerance is more likely a lack of intestinal bacteria. I'm going to do a detox soon, and then recover with probiotics and see if that helps.

I love, love, love probiotics! It if were not for the discovery of what they can do for me I might not even be alive right now! Whenever I don't eat right and get enough water I get like this and then I spend every waking moment battling the mucous monster. I bought a garlic and parsley supplement as well when I got the chewables.

I'd like to learn more about it. Where did you find information on your condition?

Several summers ago I was having respiratory issues and I just assumed it was the usual sinus/allergy stuff, but it went on for two and a half months and I developed bronchitis. One day I was standing in the mirror talking on the phone and I noticed my tongue was all white. Someone told me it was thrush and I went out and got some acidophilus and all my respiratory problems went away. I did some reading and researching and learned about what to do to restore my body's intestinal balance.

A simple saline nasal spray is also good for sinus troubles and is inexpensive over the counter. I learned that many of my own respiratory problems stemmed from having acid reflux. They have improved greatly since I began treating the acid problem. Pro biotics are found in many yogurts, too, plus yogurt has other health benefits.

I find taking vitamin C is best for me with sinus issues and the Zand Goldenseal Echinacea supplement takes care of any accompanying respiratory issues. I use acidphilus and the Zand Candida Cleanse for the intestinal issue and the other day a doctor friend who is into alternative medicines gave me a list of things he said would take care of the problem.
