So, if you and a co -worker of yours work together for while, and you guys are develop a friendship since you work together. There was an opportunity, and your co - worker got promoted in the job. You congratulate him and happy for him. After sometime, he change his attitude toward you. You felt that he is more arrogant, and stuck up. He won't easily say "hi" to you, probably you are lower than him in position. Don't you ever encounter such type of people at work?

I was actually in that position at one time and I tried very hard not to change but the new job I found myself in dictated that I take more of a leadership role. I was promoted as the manager of the department I worked in and supervised around 40 people who had been my coworkers. Many of them were friends so I was very uncomfortable suddenly being their boss. I didn't become arrogant though and I didn't stop saying "hi" to my friends. I had a very easy going management style and had a lot of cooperation from my staff because of that.
