I have joined some sites through PTSU and I can say that I became active in sites that are genuine and keeps my interest. There are lots of crap sites that were offered which I signed up with and I never bothered to open them again even if I'm not paid. I really think that when you do PTSU, you should consider the site you are offering. If the site is good, those who signed up will be active since they get some benefits being in the site.

I would say most referrals you get will be inactive. Really, most referrals you get through any method will be inactive, but it hurts more when you are paying people to be inactive! There are honest people who will genuinely sign up for and use your sites, but if you only buy say five sign ups they may very well all turn out to be of the inactive type or worse even falsely claim that they've signed up for your site when they haven't so you'll have a very hard time making a profit. I would say that the key to success with paid signups is probably buying in bulk and choosing the sites you promote wisely (the best would be the ones that will give you a bonus per referral even if they aren't active).

Well. I bought 25 sign ups from a site and all the 25 went inactive. Those people just sign up to get the bonus and nothing else, generally. Thank god, my site gave me 5 cents per referral, so that my purchase was not a big loss. And I got around hundred fake submissions for the purchased sign ups. That is, I got 135 submissions of which I denied 110 sign ups as fake. I wonder why those people always try to cheat. Again, my site was showing the details of my downlines and that enabled me to identify genuine sign ups. Some sites show only the number of referrals and not their username or Id. Buying signups for those sites will really confuse us, whether to approve or deny.
