My phone is dead! I got water damage around 1-2 months ago and it seems like it is just now affecting the phone. I am using the Pantech Matrix C740 and it seems the soft keys, the center select button, and all the QWERTY keyboard keys are dead! This has happened to my sister before with her iPhone, it recieved bad water damage, and it all worked, at least in October, then in March the next yer it wasn't working at all. Any reason why this might happen?

Remove all the parts of the phone, the front cover, back cover, battery, sim card, and also the memory card and spread them on a paper or thin cloth, and dry it for some time. Though this should have been done immediatly after the phone have been dropped into the water, it is better to do it even now. Let them dry for almost a day. The sim can be used in another phone. Even after doing this, if you still have the problem, take it to the service shop and give it for a service. Yes as our friend tells do not tell them, that you have dropped the phone into water.

This was done, but with rice, then again the day after. Still didn't work, and since the water damage indicator on the back is red, and on the batter, saying there is water damage so AT&T says they can't fix it because it has Water Damage! PAH!

hey you, that is totally NOT water damage!! water damage only damage the battery...don't need to believe in whatever cell phone sellers tell you...the only unfixable problem with water damage is that once the battery is damaged, it leaks...then that substance damages the phone's inside parts. So if you already used your phone for a while...that means the battery was fine, therefore, not water damage. You should get your phone fixed by a profesional... or if you bring it back to the seller or wireless service provider...no need to tell them it was water damaged...coz they might just say..."oh, we cant do anything then.".....which is very untrue! good luck!
