I have a friend that couldn't laugh or be himself for years because of his wife and the way she treated him. He was full of anxiety and depression. The first time I have ever got to finally here him laugh was today. You know why? because he finally made the right choice and left his wife that was killing him inside. how would you feel or what would you do if your friend went through that?

First of all I am glad to hear that your friend is laughing basically for the first time in a long time... My aunt would always tell me that laughter is the best medicine out there... it is actually proven to help promote your life.. If this person was my friend, I would want to show him that there is a life of happiness, that you dont have to bottle up your true feelings... At first it may seem weird to him... its like adjusting to a new part of shoes, the feel comfortable to a point, but they are not like your old pair of shoes that you have walked in for so long.. Encouragement and support will help him find his smile and laughter each and everyday... Even through the roughest of days.. Cant help but laughing about something.

Its so nice to hear him laugh and joke again. He told me a joke today and all I could do was laugh as he was laughing to. But he is getting through the anxiety and depression his wife caused him. The doctor has him on medicine to help him till he gets through every thing. And you are right the best medicine is laughter.

Its good that he has your support.. That will help him a lot.. more then you will ever know. With all of the depression and anxiety that he has been under its going to be scary for him at times... because of the fact that is what he is use too.. it may even become over whelming... and it will be easy for him to fall back into his confort zone.. but you being there for him, can stop that from happening! :-)
