Paper towels, sponges, or cleaning clothes?

Which do you use most for cleaning?
I typically use paper towels, however awhile back I bought a bunch of microfiber clothes. So now I use both. I'll use the clothes for a quick wipe down, and I'll use the paper towels for when I really need to clean and disinfect.

Depends what I am cleaning. For a quick spill or hand dry, I use paper towels. For cleaning, I love my microfiber cloths and old rags. I have plenty, so I am constantly switching out for a new one. Then at the end of the day I throw them all in the wash and I have them to use all over again. They don't cause streaking or lint on windows and mirrors, and they don't fall apart like paper towels, allowing for a better scrubbing imo. I just feel its more green, saves green, and provides a better clean. This was a good question!

Hi katsmeow, I stopped cleaning with sponges when I was bleaching a bit of wall when it looked a bit damp after some heavy rain and the yellow colour of the sponge transferred itself to the wall. So now for cleaning and dusting things I use my sons old white vests when he grows out of them, it does not cost me anything and they do the job.

I use cleaning clothes and sometimes sponges (I have those soft from one side and hard from the other) to really scrub something. I don't use paper towels much, only when I spill some liquid somewhere, then these are good to wipe it of quickly.

I use paper towels. Seem more sanitary to me. I have sponges for the dishes. But for counters and bathroom paper towels. THat way I don't get things mixed up and use the wrong sponge for the counter and the dishe. EWWW

It very much depends on what I am cleaning. If it's a quick spillage I will just grab a paper towel as they are usually at hand. If I am cleaning something which could get scratched then I will use a proper cleaning clothe so that I can reduce the rish of scrathes, such as on a wooden table. But if I am just doing general cleaning round the house such as windows, sink, floor etc etc then I have a habit of cutting up my old t-shirts to be used specifically for this purpose. They are just as good for general cleaning and saves money.

I usually use rags to do the majority of the cleaning. Sometimes I use paper towels too. I've been trying to not use as many though. We went to visit my friend last year and I was inspired by her recycling so I've been trying to do more around here. We recycle our plastic and our cans and try to do other stuff to help out.

i use cleaning clothes... paper towels are kind of expensive here. with cleaning clothes i use those old clothes we have here cut them in the right size and use them for wiping everything. afterwards i just wash them and let them dry and use them again. for disinfecting we use put the cleaning clothes in a small tupperware with water and bleach and use them to wipe.
