Got Chewing Gum Stuck in my hair!!

Yes I know.. very silly of me! Well I usually chew those breath mint chewing gum and for some reason I fell asleep while working on my laptop as I was tired. I had the gum in my mouth and well when I woke up it was all over my hair! Now I tried washing it off with hot boiling water, used every shampoo on the planet and even greasing my hair to get rid of but well no luck... The only alternative is to cut my hair Does anyone know the best method of removing gum from your hair? If you've had this experience before could you tell me how you sorted it out without cutting your hair?

I've heard of using ice cubes and peanut butter-probably something to do with the oils in the peanut butter I'm guessing. But, sadly, if it's really tangled up in there like I think it is, I think you're just going to have to cut the section out. Hopefully it's not in a bad spot like the side or close to your scalp :) Good luck!

I just had a thought, I wonder if something like a Goo B Gone product would work. It's an orange scented kind of greasy product that takes "gooey" stuff like gum or sticky stuff on labels off of surfaces. Try and separate as many strands of hair from the gum as you can.

It did not happen to me but it happen to my niece hair. Some naughty classmate of her's intentionally put the chewing gum in her hair. We use the peanut butter and it works.

Chewing gum is made of a substance called chicle. Chicle is a latex sap. It is a form of rubber.

My daughter always put gum on her hair she loves that her hair sticks together. The best remedy i discovered was put lot of baby oil on her hair until now it helps me a lot on keeping her hair free of sticky gums.

I have heard that using the white of an egg will remove chewing gum from hair. You are suppose to rub the white of the egg into the chewing gum, leave it for a few minutes and then gently rub at it until it comes out. Also melted chocolate is suppose to work believe it or not! Melt some chocolate and rub it into the gum. You should then be able to brush it out of your hair because the chocolate takes the stickiness out of the gum. Hope they do work overwise I've just turned your hair into a sticky combo of chocolate, egg and chewing gum:)!

Don't worry. This could happen to everyone! Try getting of the gum with your own fingers - that's the best alternative istead of cutting your hair. Gently try to remove the gum with your fingers, if you can't do it yourself ask someone to help you with that. And don't loose faith, that way for removing is not the fastest, and it's not so comfortable, but it has an effect. Be patient. If that don't work for you, you can try making the gum more sticky and warm and the try to remove it with hands. And the last, worst way is to cut you hair :( Go to the hair stylist and tell her to cut your hair the best way she can while removing the chewing gum... Hope that you will be fine soon ;)

One time I got chewing gum stuck in my brothers hair. We tried to remove it and everyone said using hot water was best. We tried it but it didn't work so we had to cut his hair. I think the best thing to do is cut your hair.
