Baby University, sounds lazy if you ask me

Someone needs to come in and speak up for these poor children.
I watched a Documentary the other night (think, Showtime) about the horrendous process these parents have to go through just to get their kids into a 'good' preschool in New York. First of all, whats with ANY CHILD being denied a good school. And why is New York ALLOWING these people claiming to come in the name of good education to turn education into a business.
I saw how these kids are taught in their 'good' education and if you ask me--the best education for any child is not laboring over continuous memorization schemes, or getting them into the most programs, etc, but Life experience. You take a child outside, do you realize the limitless amounts of experiences that lie await for these children. That can go for civic experience as well--exposing kids to culture, real life experience (taking train, bus) and exposing your child to situations that they normally would not. I nearly fell over when I heard these parents were paying AT LEAST 50K a year to have their child attend!!
And aside from just the points above, what about the parents involvement? Doesn't this encourage laziness in the parents. Their practically promising these parents their kids future is guaranteed if they go to THEIR SCHOOL (if you have the right connections and time that is) and for those like us who live in the 'real world' that is NEVER the case. Because out of all the material things we give our children at the end of the day all our children want is love and to be heard. THAT is what is going to decide the person they become.
