I think all religion are equally good and it is not a good thing to say that my religion is better than others. Now most of the tension in this world is because of the religion only .Converting religion is creating lot of problems.one can change religion if he or she realizes the right religion.we must analyze read the scriptures of various religions then we will come to the right path.I think changing one's religion is equivalent to turning your back on your mother. God can be found in all religions therefore it is an insult to God when we convert.God has not created the religion. Religions mainly created to keep the human beings in control and to avoid not to do any harm to others .God is one and all most all religions says the same thing except some changes. Those who can understand the what exactly the god is , probably that person doesn't follows any religion.

I think may be the false religions evolved or are still evolving but since there is One God He has given us one divine and rightful path and following that path is the best religion. The one who finds God he also finds this path (or religion). You can't find the true God in a wrong religion. There for conversion is not an insult to God because we need to convert when we find that right path. And anyone who understands God even in the least bit he would know that we can never insult God.

If you ask me, Christianity would probably be the best faith philosophically speaking. And if Christians (especially Catholics) would behave the way we've been taught by the Good Book, by our priests, and by our great theological scholars, Christianity would be the most awesome religion in the world. But the only real kind of dedication to peace, harmony, and obedience I've seen in anything resembling Christianity is in Mormonism, Hasidic Judaism, and Islam - in that order. I am impressed by the ideas of Buddhism - and it's effectiveness - but I'd say it's more of a philosophy than an actual religion. It's more a variant of organised atheism than a faith. But I am still highly impressed by Buddhism, and I have been tempted to indoctrinate certain Buddhist ideals into my faith. :)

My religion is the best. Why would I follow the teachings of my religion if I felt there was something better on offer? Your statement; "all the religions evolved to secure harmony in this world." is incorrect. Religions evolved to form a system of trust and community among groups of people who share the same convection. This shared belief can end up pitting one group of believers against others who hold different beliefs. Religion is a prescription for harmony within a community but disharmony in the world at large.

Which religion do you have? How do you know it's the best and that there is nothing better?

As I said before if I thought that there was a religion that was more in keeping with my beliefs I would be following its teachings. The religion whose teachings I follow is one that I chose after several years of looking and it is the best religion for me because its teachings work for me.

Religion is something personal, its your faith and has not got anything to do with the external world.its your faith, your belief,so its for the individual to know himself and follow his heart..Someone who knows himself is always same to every one in the world and harmony follows.

I think there's no point in asking such a question because everyone knows you'll get these same old answers ! I'll disagree with the majority and would say that all religions have lots of good teachings (thats' why people accept them) BUT most of these teachings are almost same in every religion. So we need to analyze the differences and resolve them so we can all be united in one religion. The major difference is about God either he is ONE, many, trinity or doesn't exist. We need to resolve this conflict. So I disagree with the ignorant approach of saying all religions are right because you can never resolve a conflict by ignoring it (at least thats' what I learned in behavorial sciences !).

No religion is the best. Like how budhist monks are supposed to be living poverty and such they have gang wars (which I thought was quite entertaining on the news ... lol). If you simply don't want to believe as well then that is fine as well ... everything depends on you yourself ... if you see a certain religion that you find you like the ideals then you should go for that (and lets hope that ain't being a satanic ... lol) so whatever YOU feel YOU like is the best one for YOU.

To me, humanity should be declared the best and only religion. However, since that is not possible, I would have to say that all religions have both good and bad points. The good points are definitely there to guide society towards peaceful growth and existence and the bad points are there simply coz most religious evolved during the dark medieval times with suitable dictates for those ages...however time has changed adn the situations are not similar anymore...so keeping in mind the good points, we have to evolve in our religious beliefs and practises for greater benefit of mankind.

Hi cashready, This is a matter of choice as no one religion can be best for everyone. It is that very idea that has caused so many problems in the world. Religion or the lack of it, is a personally matter for everyone and we must all learn to accept and respect that. Blessings.

One can never say any particular religion to be the best. Religion is one's own independent choice. But the sad part is half of the wars fought till today have been related to religion. Also there was a interesting quote in a movie...i don't remember the movie..but the quote was " Your religion is based on the place you were born or the place your parents were born"

Though I am born in Hindu family, I have always been inspired by Buddhist philosophy. For me, the philosophies of Buddhism is perfect, because this is the religion that only focuses on what is exact truth that is even accepted by the scientific terms, that doesn't contain any superstitious dogmas. Many of the great inventions I have found that it already matched the Buddhist philosophy. I thought about this for many time and tried to learn a lot, lot and lot about Buddhist philosophies, when I found the quantum physics and the Buddha's teaching matched so much or there was many similar things. But the reality is that, the actual path told by Buddha to follow is very tough one than every other religion. But there is nothing compulsory to which extent you follow it. The more deeply you follow it the more benefit you get. Because it mostly deals with attaining the personal wisdom via meditation and discipline. So, I feel the Buddhist philosophy the best for me, and apply most of its teaching in my life, though I am not a monk, not a Bhikchu. But still applying those teachings in my life keeps myself so much contented. Actually every religion are very nice. It is people who polluted it, gave it a negative meaning. The focusing point of every religion is the oneness, though they claim various techniques. If you look at the core part of the religions, they all focus on the concept of this oneness, the oneness of light something like that. But people don't understand the real meaning of this oneness and start start diverging its meaning. And so, there are people with various views nowadays for the same thing, so that everyone is already in confusion and that is why the wisdom to necessary to understand these things, to understand the real meaning of oneness told by Buddha, told by Jesus.... Happy mylotting...

I don't think there is a such thing as a best religion. I believe if your religion practices the teachings of God, you strive to do your best in life, and you have a strong foundation on which you build yourself than that is the best religion of all.

No religion is better then another on any way. Everyone has thier own personal beliefs and we should learn to love and respect one another for our differences. As long as nobody is being harmed tolerance is the best answer. I think religion and spirituality is very powerful and people have used it to maipulate societies everywhere. It should be something personal and private. It's no one's right to chose right from wrong. I prefer to gather beliefs from all religions and try to understand everybody even if my beliefs are different.

cashready4u, I am Catholic. I respect each and every individual with their own free will to adhere to the beliefs that their religion shaped them to become the better human beings they can be. One may be a Catholic, but if he is a greedy Catholic, he is nothing to me but a scum of the earth. One may be a Buddhist, or an Islam, or a Baptist, or a Scientologist, but if he dearly loves his brother, then I have seen the face of God in him. Your religion is what it makes you to be. Let us guide our brother constantly to be in the right path.

Comparing religions is not like comparing George Bush to George Washington. It wouldn't matter if I say Christianity is the best, or Buddhism is the best, Islam is the best, etc. The simple answer is, there's no best religion! I'm a Christian and I'm comfortable with it, but I wouldn't say or insist that my faith is the best one. Faith is something personal so basically, whatever you're comfortable with, as long as you're doing the right thing, I guess that's the best religion, for you at least!
