Flying troubles?

A few months ago, my partner and I were stranded at DIA for several hours. Our early morning flight was cancelled, and several others as well. We couldn't get on the standby flight, as we were near the bottom of the list. The airline was not much help, even rude at some points. This was our first time flying since 9/11. I thought taking off your shoes to go through security was a joke. Quite the mall Denver International has become, was not as much 10 years ago. Our flight was at about 9 a.m originally, we ended up flying out at 10 PM. Over 12 hours, and over $200 later, we were all too eager to get back. That airline now has contacted me several times about some complaints we made, and has given me a voucher to fly with them again. It was not so much about the time, or the wasted money, but all the people we spoke with from that airline did not seem to know what was going on. One rep even deleted my info from the first flight, and did not add me to the later one, leaving my info in limbo; stranded, which luckily my partner called back to confirm and had it corrected when he learned of it. The rep he talked to informed us that I would not of been able to fly, and after a few hours, the info would not of been there anymore, making it where we would of had to buy another ticket, or wait possibly a few days for them to get back to me with new flight info. They would refer us to call others in their company, who would always be in India, and had less knowledge of what was being referred to then the people we spoke with in person. The airplane seemed to be in disrepair, tattered insides, on both of the planes my chair did not recline and the headphone jacks did not work. Our returning plane had some mechanical problems that kept it from taking off for awhile. There were a lot of odd observations, I could go on for hours. I did notice that a lot of the security is for show. I watched a lot of interesting things take place. I am just happy to have not been stranded there for days. Have you had problems flying? How long have you been stranded in an airport?

Several times I experienced flight delays, between 1 - 4 hours. Delays such as this are common, and therefore we do not get compensation.

I was just wanting assistance to be able to find another flight and such. They had my bags already, had no access to a computer and such. It was a couple of hours after my flight would of left before we were confirmed on another flight. We were stranded for over 12 hours, and other patrons spoke of how their airline gave them vouchers for food and such. We never even got an apology until well after the fact. Everything in the airport is expensive, and it is not their fault that we skipped breakfast that day, but it was a shame that they had the flight in limbo, and waited only 30 minutes beforehand to cancel the flight. We found out later that it was not so much the weather that had it cancelled, but that our flight was underbooked. We even heard from some workers at the airport that the airline did that quite often with that route. Our bags arrived 5 hours before we did, and it was an additional couple of hours to locate them.
