Whew, thats awesome. Wish I could do the same. I read your reply and was amazed at how you manage to get scholarships and teach etc. enroute. By the way, your work at home has me really interested. Do you know of any authentic ones. I get so many I dont know which is a scam and which is not. Id love to be in a position to earn extra which I desperately need to see my son through college. Good luck and God Speed.

Hi kickofftotheworld...what a great thing to do! It will be a fantastic learning experience for everyone. I wish I had been able to do that when I was younger, but now I wouldnt be able to healthwise. By the time next year gets here, maybe you will have lots of mylot friends all over the world, offering places to stay as stopovers. Wouldnt that be wonderful! I wish you the greatest trip ever and will look forward to reading your journals of your trip when you return. Hmmmmmm.... Maybe you need someone to carry your suitcase for you!

That's soooooo wonderful!!! I am so envy you!lol I wish I could, SOMEDAY. I am not sure if I could do that or not, because of the financial issue but it will be really nice to see around the world. I am originally from Japan and lived there for 19 years then moved to USA and have been living here for 12 yrs. I would love to see more contries. Hopefully I could visit as many countries as I can while I live. I bet you and your husband are excited, I would love to hear the story when you get back!

I know that you will have an exciting time planning your trip. It will be fantastic for you to keep a blog of your special journey. I was 20 years old when I went around the world. To help finance it I let out my cottage and got a working holiday visa for Australia. I suggest you might like to go to Australia and New Zealand, a location in Africa or South America and a few locations in Asia. You will have a lovely time deciding on your route. Mine was begin in London, then Los Angeles, Hawaii, Fiji, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Darwin, Singapore and back to London. I also went to Indonesia and Malaysia. Years later I went to New Zealand, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. Good luck with arranging your amazing trip.

That is awesome. I am so envious! Hopefully someday I will be able to afford to do something like that. Here in the US my favorite places are New Orleans, and Destin. I have always wanted to see the East Coast. I would also suggest Acapulco, and British Columbia. I haven't been in any other countries but there ar a lot of places I would love to see. Fiji and Australia for sure. Have a great time, you will have to let us know where you decide to go.

You know, I will give you a little tip. It can be a lot of money at first look but really it is achievable. Here is some ideas to help you guys see how we are planning it. 1. Taking the TOEFL and then setting up places in Asia and Europe that will let you teach English for a month or so. (They do it with students all the time) 2. Get sponsorships. If you put a little effort into talking with Business you will be amazed what you can get in return. 3. Online, stay at home jobs. If you work with them long enough then the flexibility becomes even better. We can maintain that by going to internet cafes when we can and do that to make money. 4. Save save save! Cut everything out of your budget that you can! 5. Last but not least, don't be afraid of camping. Free is always better than a $99 or whatever hotel room!

Hi kickofftotheworld, I admire your courage in taking on such a trip and hope you really have a thoroughly enjoyable and successful tour. My recommendation would be to plan as much time as you can in Asia. So many countries with beautiful scenery, interesting people, lots of different customs and lifestyles. I have travelled extensively but usually I stay in 4 and 5 star hotels. I have however spent a night with the former headhunters in Borneo in their longhouse and last year visited the cannibalistic tribes in West Papua who are still living in the stone age style. So many things to see and do. Have a great time. You will certainly have a lot of stories to tell.
