I currently work night shift as a cleaner at a club. We are supposed to start work when the club closes, but sometimes people take their time leaving which means we can only start some of the jobs (the jobs where people can't see us). I am one of those people who are always early (usually 10 to 15 mins). So instead of sitting on my backside waiting I start working, I never clock on until I am supposed to start, and I always work until I am supposed to knock off. Last night my boss had a winge about me being early all the time and has told me from now on not to do it, I asked if he would tell me why and he said "because I said so, I am the boss and what I say goes". So much for me thinking I was doing something nice for some one, and doing a good job. If you are/were a boss, wouldn't you be happy that a member of staff is so dedicated and that you are getting work done for nothing?

Well, normally he is quite a nice boss so he could've been having a bad day, however, I don't think I deserve to be spoken to the way he did, when technically I don't think I have done anything wrong. In future I will just sit in my car and wait - bit silly though.

Its good decision taken by the your Boss. So make him feel happy by taking another work at club and satisfy him in the gratitude of giving thanks. So that in near future you may get promoted to another high ransom job. Keep it up.
