Holy Mass being held in Malls???

Being a Catholic country, we practice going to mass every Sunday. This is the day most of us spend with our loved ones either at home, out of town, or to go to malls. Although it has been years now that we hold the Holy Mass in malls nationwide. There are two sides on this (I think): PRO: For convenience - since most of the families in the country go to malls every Sunday, they don't have to go to separate locations to hear mass and go to the mall. CON: It destroys the essence of hearing mass -- to actually sacrifice and give time to visit the Church with all the statues and the right venue. What do you guys think? Are you in favor of holding the Holy Mass in malls or not?

Nothing wrong with it - as long as there is a celebrant and a group of people, the mass can be celebrated anywhere. No essence is destroyed because the term "church" is not just a structure, it's more than a building. It's the group of faithfuls who believe in God - that's us.

For practicality reasons, churches are becoming more and more congested these days and they become less attractive to some who are not that religious. Bringing Holy Masses to the Malls I guess is one good thing to do to decongest the churches as well as to lure churchgoers to go to church even when they are planning to malls. I think the essence would depend on the one who attends the mass. An individual may go to a real church but is not on it and just attend the mass is not as good as a person who attends mass in malls and is serious about attending masses.

Well, I think that it is one way of the Church to attact more people to hear Mass on Sundays. Since it is common knowledge that people love to go shopping, even if it is just window shopping, hence, Masses are held inside the malls. I agree to one respondent has said that God is everywhere.
