Just another obsession of mine – which one is it now?

I’m a good boy, and I ALWAYS listened to my parents and teachers, and did exactly as I was told.
Part of a good German education includes mental hygine, - I remember in primary school there was even and old, grumpy dentist who showed up every 6 month or so to look into our mouths – and we were taught to brush our teeth in the morning and in the evening.
Now, admittedly, that was some years back, and in the years in-between I traveled widely and I have seen a lot – which included people who brushed their teeth not only after getting up and before going to bed, but after lunch as well.
The key experience came about 10 years ago, when I met several people (that was already down here in Mexico) who brushed their teeth after EVERY meal. And me, remember I’m a good boy, picked up the habit.
Nowadays I get a lot of praise from my dentist, which is nice, but by now I’m so hooked to brushing my teeth after each cooky or bonbon or sweet I eat that I HAVE to brush my teeth. So folks, I’m looking for a twelve step recovery program to help me out here. Any ideas?

Your post is a riot, and this is the very same thing that I'm dealing with. When I went to school all we heard was, "brush after every meal". I too have very good checkups. In fact, my dentist asked me if I was going to another dentist in between visits! Isn't that something? I'll be waiting to see what others write to you, because I need a twelve step program as well. Great discussion by the way.
