Today is my daughter's 3rd birthday. She is getting so big so fast it's making my head spin. I remember when I first had her and she was so little and dependent on me. Now she is 3 and very much independent, wanting to do everything herself. She still needs me but it's a different kind of need than when she was a baby. It seems like tomorrow she will leaving the nest. I don't even want to think about that day. It's still 15 years away but I bet it goes by fast.

I agree Sunshine4, they do grow up so fast. Just yesterday she was in her room playing with my little ponies and now she is 22. Going to Graphic Design School. We have a great relationship, she has become my friend as well as my daughter. There are times I have to remind her, hey, dont tell me that, Im mom, I dont want to know that lol. But she is so open with me and for that I am so happy. When I see others that wont let their moms into their lives at all.

Awww happy birthday to her! It does go by too fast. My oldest just turned 5 a few months ago and I remember every little detail of the day she was born. I remember when both of my girls hit the 3 year mark they wanted to do everything for themselves from getting dressed to brushing their teeth. I dont even want to think of my children leaving the nest either. It goes by so quick I cant even think of where the years have gone. I hope your daughter has an awsome birthday.

I know how you feel. My oldest graduated kindergarten last week. This coming school year my middle one starts preschool. And my baby turns 2 on july 28th! i can't believe it has gone by so fast. I'm already dreading them growing up and leaving lol. I'm dreading the teenage years too. I hope we make it through them ok.

You are going through the same thing every parent goes through, the "were did the time go" stages. My youngest just turned eight and my oldest is now ten and when they had their birthday party(same party as their birthdays are three days apart) I started crying when they were blowing out the candles because I thought my gosh are they getting so big and so fast. I just make sure I spend as much of my time as possible with them and take a ton pf pictures.

My son turned 3 a few weeks ago, and it's amazing how independent he is. He is now potty trained, and although diapers were a nuisance...at least it was something he needed me for! He still likes to play games together, but he also enjoys his alone time (monitored of course)...and that has been a huge adjustment!
