It is a general tendency for the kids to fall into sleep after listening to stories. It becomes a general practice for the parents to tell the stories and the parents at times may find it difficult to narrate these stories and they some times find new stories then and there!

yes, kids fall asleep after listening to bedtime stories or they fall asleep even before the story ends. I have been reading stories to my nephew ever since he lived with us. Now he is 9 years old and he still loves to hear stories even though he knows how to read. So, i still read him stories from the book he borrows from school but after my reading he shoos me out of his bed and read the book himself and he falls asleep afterwards LOL

yeah, i love to read to my kids bedtime stories, and they also love it for years. it's a way of building a bond with them and it's also our quality time togetjer especially after a busy day or schedule.

I dont read to my daughter whie she is in the cot but I do read to her when she is up and about. She is 1 on Friday and loves looking at words and she does recognise some words. She recognises cat, dog, mum and dad she points at the words and says them so I think thats brilliant and would advise any parent to read to their child from a very early age and let the child interact with the book!
