Every year in Munich, Germany, the biggest beer festival in the world takes place over two weeks. This year it will be from Saturday, September 19th until Sunday, October the 4th. Many thousands of people come from all over the world to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and of course drink the fantastic beer. There are many attractions and loads of food stalls. There are 14 beer "tents" which are all specially constructed each year and some have seating for 6000 people inside and up to 4000 seats outside. By mid afternoon they are usually all full! I have attached a photo of the inside of one of the tents but it covers only part of it and does not really show how big it actually is. The beer is served in liters, each of which will this year cost 8.60 Euros or almost 12 US dollars. Have you been to the Oktoberfest? What did you think of it? Would you like to go? What are the chances of you going this year? It is an amazing experience!

Hi Lakota, too bad but you can wait until next year which is the 200th anniversary of the first Oktoberfest. It was actually the wedding of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. They would be surprised to see how their anniversary is celebrated.
