Is bartending a lucrative option? how does one go about it? and also the requisites if any.

Like with everything, training and experience matters. You can try craiglist to see what people are looking for and how much they are offering. You can also list yourself for jobs. Be careful though what jobs you take on. It helps if you can provide your own equipment.
