Is it true that male kids resemble mother and female offsprings resemble father?

I'm asking 'cos I know this is true (in my case) but maybe it's not a general rule... I resemble my mother a lot (emotionally and psychic speaking, not physically), anyway... and my kid (boy) resembles my wife (I am the independent type, but he is just too home and parents bonded, if you know what I mean. Will this affect him...?

My daughter looks just like I did as a child, my son looks like my husband. Their personalities seem to be a combination not only of us but other members of our family, my son reminds me of my own father, my daughter's personality reminds me of my sister-in-law's daughter when she was that age. If your son is young, of course he'll be bonded to mom, that's what little kids need to survive, but don't worry, as they get older and more exposed to things outside the hone, it is no longer just the parents who shape the personality.

well....when I was little I resembled my mum, as being very much independent and having my own personality, not very formed, but my boy seems to have feeble psychic, as he keeps crying when we walk him to the kindergarten and I wasn't. And some other things like that. Maybe I should wait and see?

He's still just a little boy, and everyone has their own personality. Kindergarten can be scary! Perhaps there is a reason why he doesn't want to go. Doesn't make him feeble or weak though.
