Several months ago I had a scam artist come to my front door. He claimed he was one of our neighbors and that he'd locked his keys and his wallet inside his car and needed to borrow some cash to pay the locksmith. We knew he was trying to scam us because he said he lived on our street and we know everyone that lives on our street, plus when we asked him more specific questions his facts just didn't add up. He tried his scam on several of our neighbors until one of them called the police and they took the guy away in handcuffs. I lead a pretty dull life, so this was the most exciting that it gets for me, so of course I had to blog about the incident! Well, just today my dad read in the news that a guy matching the same description as our scam artist was pulling the exact same scam in a different town in the next county over from where we live! The article said that the police are looking for any information anyone might have. So my dad was asking our family if any of us could remember when the guy came to our house. So I ran to my computer and looked up the blog entry I'd made about the incident and was able to give my dad the date he came to our house and specific details about the incident that we'd all forgotten about since it was so long ago! So my dad was able to call the police and tell them the information he had and that the police in our city had been called and that they would probably have more information on the guy! So today I learned that blogging is a great way to keep records of things that may not seem that important at the time, but you may need some of that information later! Have you ever had to reference a previous blog entry to look up more details on something that had happened in the past?
