Is WAMP the best local web server for windows?

WAMP is described as Apache Server, MySQL, and PHP for Windows operating system. But I have a question, is it the best web server for windows? I know that setting up lamp is so chicken easy but there are a lot of web servers out in the web now, some of those servers are like WAMP, they're for free. In Vista, WAMP crashes everytime I pen it so I re-install it again. Is WAMP local web server the best for a web developer or just for a newbie?
