To Think Or Not To Think

I consider myself the average guy, a little neurotic, a little crazy, a healthy human being who loves his kids and his work. Nonetheless, if I would give credence to all the useless clutter that is going on in my head all the time, I’d probably go nuts.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hearing voices, am not in communication with the here-after, none of it. But I’d like to observe myself, and I’d say 80% of what I think when I don’t think consciously, meaning I’m not mulling over a problem or making plans, is total nonsense. It flies in the face of what I’ve been taught and what I’m teaching about human beings as reasonable people.
Again, don’t call an ambulance with a straightjacket yet, but this weird caleidoscope of memories, projections, inventions and sheer daydreaming is why we have a brain? I dunno.
So I laugh a lot about myself, and always remember that I’m in good company LOL

I am neurotic too. a little paranoid. I hate it but I have to accept it. Theres a lot of things about that we didnt wish to be, but was just born like that. It's a good thing you separate the real world from your imagination. LOL..

Hi pillusch, I know what you're speaking of, I've caught myself thinking things that are totally useless. And then I think to myself, what a waste of brain time. The important thing, I think, is that you're aware of this "nonsense." And then when you catch yourself, grab the encyclopedia and pick an intelligent topic to think on, eh? Maybe our brains think of useless stuff because there isn't anything of value pouring in it, ha. Your post is original, and thought provoking.
