Which beach is nearest to you? Do you go there often?

I love water and almost everything about it. I live in Michigan, USA, which is bordered on three sides by the beautiful five Great Lakes, which look very much like oceans because of their size. Lake Michigan, one of them, is only an hour from where I live. I love to go at least several times a year in the warmer weather to swim, walk, sun, fish, explore the light houses, and watch the amazing ships and sunsets.
Which beach is nearest to where you live? Do you visit the beach often? What do you like about "your" beach?

I have always thought how lovely it would be to live within walking or seeing distance of a beautiful beach. Maybe someday : )

Sadly I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and am so far from it!! I live in Pennsylvania. I'm guessing I'm probably at least 6-8 hours from the nearest ocean beach. This is why I end up going on a beach vacation each summer. My entire life my family went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina each June. I love it there. There is so much to do and it really is a great family beach. This year will be different for me though because I'm going to the beach with my soon to be husband! :-) I will be on my honeymoon, 2 weeks from now, at St. Pete Beach in Florida. I've heard that area is beautiful and I really can't wait to go there.

My sister and her family routinely vacation at Myrtle Beach, as well. They say it is beautiful! Congratulations on your coming marriage, and have a beautiful time in FL on your honeymoon : )
