I agree--when I think "my family" I think of all of my family, including my mom's 10 brothers and sisters and their kids and their kids. I have 30 something cousins (including step-cousins) and most of them are married and have kids. Off the top of my head--I have 51 second cousins but I don't know all of my cousins or their kids. I also have 2 3rd cousins (my cousin's grandkids). That is just on my mom's side. On my dad's side I have an aunt (his sister in law), 5 cousins and 4 2nd cousins. I really don't know my parent's aunts and uncles. Then there is my husband's extended family, which I now consider to be part of my family (a mother in law, 2 sister in laws and their husbands, a niece, 3 nephews and 2 great-nieces and some aunts and uncles and cousins that I don't know well or have only met once). In my immediate family there are 6--me, my husband and our 4 children.
