wordpress smilies matters

I have been an avid blogger since 2002, I used xanga for three years and blogger for a year. Today, I own two (2) domains powered by wordpress I can't seem to figure out how to put some smilies. I'm so tired of putting some html codes along with my post. I want clickable ones. And no matter how I search through the internet I can't seem to get it the right way. HELP!
