What is Everyone's Problem with Tasks?

United States
June 10, 2009 8:30am CST
Ever since the inception of this new feature, I have seen many discussions about Tasks. And they all seem to be some type of complaint. "I never see any", "There aren't enough tasks", "how come mine weren't approved?" and a number of other questions basically saying that the task feature is no good. How come I'm not having this problem??? I didn't start doing tasks until just recently, and I only do the ones that are link builders, instead of the writing. But I am getting them, and I tend to see tasks available every day. Is it attached to your interests? Is it only available in certain areas? Let me share with you what I have been doing, maybe it will help a few of you. When I come into Mylot each day, I check the tasks section first to see what is available. It seems like there are more tasks available early on in the day, but there is always the chance that you can run into them later on, so I check back every few hours throughout the day. When I see a few of my link building tasks that I've come to love, I accept them in the order of least to most slots available. If you look in the details, you will see how many slots are available for people to accept these tasks. I feel that if I accept them in this order, I will be able to accept the largest amount possible. Once I accept the project, I make sure to read the terms carefully and follow them exactly to the letter. These people pay good money to have what they ask for, and have the right to reject your "hard" work if it isn't what they require. So far, I have accepted and completed 15 tasks, 12 just last night. The other three were from last week and were approved. I still say this task feature is a good feature, and as it picks up, there will be more tasks available for everyone. We as members just have to do good work, and be patient. So, am I the only one in MyLot having good luck with the tasks, or are there others? Do you have any tips to share?

I came across quiet a lot of tasks already. However, it's either I am not familiar with what's being asked, or, I am just too tired to finish it. I still find responding to discussions more fun though, so I don't feel bad with any earnings I might have missed by not submitting this tasks.

Yeah, I guess with the inception of tasks I am a little more focused on earning money than usual. At the same time though, I have a little enjoyment learning about how link building is done with these tasks, which will help me in the future with my online promotion. I guess its safe to say that you should still have some degree of enjoyment in doing the tasks, otherwise you won't be doing your best.

I agree. Enjoying anything you're in to is abig factor for you to go on doing it. I will have to admit that earning is my first reason in joining Mylot. However, after I learned that nobody really knows how to earn bigger here, I just stayed because I'm having fun...the extra cents every day is just an added bonus to me know (since I honestly don't earn that much here).

I think everyone that stays with this site goes through that. They come here to earn, they find out that there isn't much in the way of earnings, then they either find something fun about the site that makes them stay, or they go on about their business. I know I fall in the former category, maybe both. When I first joined, I was here for about a week, then abandoned it because I wasn't making much money. Then about a month or two later I saw a discussion in my e-mail (never did delete the account) that really piqued my interest, so I responded. I found more and more discussions that I liked, and so I was hooked.

See, this is exactly what I feared. So many people complaining about the tasks in their discussions, people that are new to tasks might be discouraged to try. Even if my tasks don't get approved, I learn a lot just by doing the link building tasks, and I may even try a few of the writing ones when I get more time. I hope this discussion gives you just a bit more confidence in trying the tasks.

I think that problems because they did not understand the rule yet. We should known the concept, because every task creator have their own. There is at least 3 tasks creator that regulary give us task to do. If at first our submmision did not accept or being rejected, we can fix it at the next tasks. The task creator always give us some reason why our tasks being reject. And,... There is always the first time, and if its failed, that okay.

Tasks are something I am too having some issues. First of all when I login I get almost no tasks most days. very little task I have taken. Plus most writing paragraph tasks are rejected with same or no reason which is really something i can't agree to. Then if few tasks are there, I can't accept them as the accept task button is not visible there.

Well, from what I know I can tell you that each task only has a certain amount of slots for people to complete them. Once you see a task that you want to complete, it is in your best interest to accept it as soon as you see it, and complete it asap. Many people like tasks, so once they are posted, you have to get in right away before all the slots are taken. Other than that, I say check periodically as you are in Mylot to see if there are any tasks that you would like to complete. Different task posters post their tasks at different times, and anyone can sign up to be a task provider, so you really never know when a task will become available. I hope this information helps you.

Hello, drknlvly6781! Well, I got a lot of tasks and they were fine, but there are other tasks with a bug regarding with the keywords. Some users post a discussion about problems in tasks. I explained to them that the others are good but there are also tasks with a problem or bug. Maybe because the particular task with the bug is the only task left when they check out on available and the others had already completed the other tasks without experiencing problems. If you encounter a task with a bug, just let it go and you can contact the task creator about it so it will be fixed. Happy mylotting!

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't encountered any glitches within any of the tasks that I've completed, but with all the other glitches around Mylot, it isn't surprising that they would have a few there as well, especially since its still a little new.

Hi, i think you're so great, you can do 12 tasks in just one day. For me, i didn't do any task yet, as i feel that i do not understand or do not know what to write to meet the requirements of the tasks given. I think they're out of my scope of knowledge to do it. I think they're quite tough for me. So until now, i was just responding to discussions and also start discussion topics, but do not do any tasks here. By the way, which kind of task did you usually do? Good luck to you! :)

The ones I have been doing are the link builders, where you look up sites per a given keyword, then evaluate them against the questions they give, then if the site seems to be what the person is looking for, then you list it. I have been too timid to try any of the writing tasks as of yet. I haven't seen any that were close to my interests, and its hard for me to write on a subject that I'm not interested in. But knowing that these tasks are usually worth 2 dollars, I'm quickly trying to think of a way to get over this anxiety, and actually write something of quality, regardless of the subject.

I have no complaints about the tasks. I love doing them and I definitely appreciate how they increase my earning potential at myLot. I really only do the writing tasks at this point but I've tried several different types. I just find that writing is most inline with what I like to do and with my general experience. Like you, I check the tasks tab when I first log in. I reload the page every once in awhile to see if anything is being offered. I accept only the ones that I feel I can complete in the allowed time. Also like you, I try to accept the tasks for which I have at least some basic knowledge. I think I write better articles that way. Then, I make a point to check back in the early evening because that seems to be when the tasks that have been forfeited or abandoned that day show up again as available. If the people who initially accepted them couldn't do them, someone has to :) However, there might be only 1 or 2 of these so it's important to accept right away if it's something you'd like to do. Overall, I'm having great luck with the tasks. The only rejections I got were earlier on, when tasks first began several months ago. I tried some of the graphics tasks (resizing logos) and got some rejections among them because they were not clear enough. So, I recognized that those are clearly not my forte :) and I concentrate my efforts on the writing tasks which do get approved.

That's one of the reasons why I haven't tried a writing task just yet. I haven't seen any that pique my interest, and I feel that I may not write as good because of it. But I am thinking of a way around that, and maybe next week I will try my hand at some of the writing tasks. Until then, I will continue to check for link builders and do those.

I love doing the task features! Thats where I earn my earnings. The task features helps me to reach my minimum earnings faster. I do the same thing you do. I check what tasks are available as soon as I log on, and I chose the task that has the less slot available first. I have had problems with the Craglist features. I had started out doing the 4 paragraphs, but I figured that was too much work. My favorite tasks to do is search a certain keyword on goggle or yahoo. It doesn't take much time to do and its easy if you follow the steps.

I love the writing tasks because you can earn more with them but it only appears at a certain time in the day and it goes away pretty quickly. Still, without the tasks we would reach payment much much later.

Hi, This new feature is great. I am new here and fortunately i can have fun with the task, even i sign up here did not know what the task is, before.. In myLot, i know if we discuss something and make responses and comments, we can earn money. Now, i think is it more awesome with. This time i have been submmited a lot of tasks. And rejected are about 15 percents. The tasks are showed everyday, and can show up everytime they want. i suggest check it everytime you log in. As we know we have different time zone here, and i think i know the time when the tasks shown usually. If you want to know, you can share with me,maybe i can help make better. Have a nice days..

Some seems so descriptive that you cannot even write anything about the topic. I hope those task posters are really earning more than what will be for the man who posted for the tasks.

I would think they would have to earn more than what they are giving out. Else there would be no sense in posting a project at all. But if they are paying out more than what it is worth, then that is their own fault.

I would love to start doing task here in mylot but I am not interested nor familiar with the the tasks available. I am also checking it from time to time to determine if new tasks are available but I can only see the same tasks in there. I would love to do some IT-related tasks if there are.

I haven't seen any IT tasks in there, but you never know. Since tasks have been opened to everyone in Mylot to create, you may see an IT task in the future. Keep checking!
