Are you a dreamer or a schemer?

Dreams and Dreamers - Dreams can come true if one acts on all that they imagine they can be.

Think of a dreamer as one who only imagines a think but does not act on it. In contrast, think of a schemer as one who not only dreams, but takes action to make those dreams come true. Which are you? A dreamer or a schemer?Myself, I am both. Karen

I think it depends on what I 'dream'. Bo Sanchez, the local preacher here in my country said that all of us has a soul dream and an artificial dream. Artificial dreams are dreams that last only on age or season while soul dreams are something you really wanted and makes you rrreeeaalllyyy happy when being successful on it. So I guess sometimes I'm a "dreamer" in my artificial dreams (like for example, I'd like to have a laptop as of this moment, but I'm not really working on it because I think that's not so important for me).. On the other hand I'm a schemer in my soul dreams, especially to my passions in life. =D Sometimes I get tired reaching for that goal but that doesn't stop me.. Oftentimes I've been told by my mom to stop reaching for something if it only hurts you, but I understand her, maybe she doesn't just want me to get hurt.. I don't listen to her advice though.. I know there will be lots of pains before reaching that goal.. it's hard but I feel happy and fulfilled in my 'soul' every time I use my passion for others and for deeper purposes.. I think that's one of the major things that make me up as a human. Even though I get tired of it, of reaching that seemingly impossible dream, I'm happy because it's all fulfilling.

Perhaps your preacher is onto something. I would classify some of the material things we wish for in life as the artificial dreams, as they bring only temporary gratification. On the other hand, dreams of love and what are best purpose in life is would be a soul dream. Thank you for the interesting insights. Karen

Throughout most of my life, I've been a dreamer, basically too lazy or cowardly to get anything done. Over the last two or three years though, I seem to have started evolving into a schemer. It started the year before last, when (after much dithering) I decided to do a sponsored parachute jump for charity. Once I'd signed up to do that, I had to become pro-active about getting sponsorship money out of almost everyone I knew (without letting my parents know what I was doing, since I didn't want to scare them). The process seems to have accelerated since early last year, when I joined a political party for the first time in my life - not something I'd ever previously considered doing. Almost immediately I became involved, I was contributing to the manifesto, a few months ago I became regional co-ordinator, I recently travelled halfway across the country to help with an election campaign (two weekends in a row) and it looks like I'll be standing in a local election next year. If you'd told me I was going to be acting like this a couple of years ago, there's no way I'd have believed you.

Wow! You've started a wonderful "chain-reaction" within yourself, where one success motivates you to move on through the next one. I think that is admirable and wish you every success in your endeavors. Karen
