I just lost control! Now I am a pretty disciplined person, but my remote needed the batteries changed and when I changed them I had to re-program it! I couldn't find where I wrote the number I needed to program it! I went nuts!! I was wondering how many of us really lose it when something goes wrong with our remote!!... or am I all alone????

This is funny because my daughters remote control is missing for a few days now. We have checked every where and it can't be found. They went a little crazy not understanding how the remote control can't be found and now they have decided just to go and buy a universal remote.

We all do. lol =D When that happen and you're close to losing control, just stop looking for it. Sometimes it just come out from nowhere when you're not searching. I think people spend a total of months of their whole life in just finding the remote. I've seen it in one of the commercials in Nat Geo. Sometimes you can learn from commercials so you should watch it too sometimes. =D

Oh it's a crisis at my house when a remote is missing. My son freaks out when we can't find the TV remote so he can switch over to channel 3 so he can play on his gaming system... My husband also has the knack of losing our cordless phone and what makes the matter worse is that he often loses one of our cordless phone's that has the ringer tuned off and so it's extra hard to find because we can't hear it ringing and the paging ring on it doesn't work when we page it from the base because the ringer is off half the time...lol

HAHAHA! That's funny ..LOL.. I also thought that maybe we should place one of those beaded chain's onto the remote and attach it to the side of the t.v..( the type of chains banks and grocery store's sometimes use on their ink pen's to keep people from stealing or losing them. Something has to be done that's all I know!- And with the phone just replace it with a desk phone or something too big to lose, my husband didn't like that ideal..lol.

Lol!! Maybe you need to hook up a ringer to the remote and then turn it up so that you can call it when you lose it... you know I am surprised no one has come out with that yet! It's a great idea... then you could just use your phone to call your remote and when it rang you'd know right where it is!!!

I get upset too. The remote i use for the tv in my living room is having issues. The last(the button you punch to get to the previous channell you were on) is not working. Sometimes I don't remember the number of the channell i was looking at previously and I hav to go to the guide and look. Its not like that is something I should get upset about, but it just ruins the flow of watching tv.

I know!!! It gets on my nevers so bad cause Im a channell flipper big time during commericals. I dont know why its just that button, every other button is fine.

Oh no! Time to buy a new remote!!! The "back" button is of vital importance to those of us who are major channel flippers!!! you never know what you just almost missed!!!

I change the channel manuallly when my remote control gets lost or broken. It's not that big of a problem for me but I do hate to get out of the couch when I'm all comfortable. Then again, I don't watch much TV.

I don't typically watch too much tv myself. But when I do watch, I hate the commercials so I mute them! I find most of them very annoying... and I really don't like getting up! I guess I've become lazy and "remote-dependant"! ...but... I work at the computer while the tv is on ... so that's why I don't like to get up it interupts me too much!! :)

Wow! This is freaky. Just a few minutes ago I found out that the remote that controls our T.V is missing! I freaked out and I am still wondering where it is. I looked all over and I just can't find it. Oh well, I hope someone else manages to find it!

Thanks! We still haven't found it, but I haven't been looking lol. I hope we find it soon, because it's the only control that can turn the TV on and off and change the volume!

I don't totally lose it or totally freak out when I have lost the remote control, but I have gotten very aggitated when it has happened. I don't know why that is. I mean I grew up in the days where it was a luxury to have a remote control. During those times the only remote control in my family's house was myself and my brother getting up all the time to change the channel for the adults who were watching television, lol! But now these days people act like it's the end of the world if they can't find the darn thing. Like I said I get aggitated but then I get up and walk to the television and change the channel like in the old days until I find the remote again. They should make some sort of alarm on a remote that if you lose it you can just clap or push a button on the television and the remote will beep. Like on a cordless phone if you lose the phone you push the button on the base and the handset will beep so you can locate it. For some people though I can see why they get totally upset because there are some televisions where there aren't any buttons on the television itself to allow a person to change the channel manually. If I had a television like that then i would completely freak out if I lost the remote control to that because you couldn't do anything until you found it.

I hear you on the "when we were kids" thing!! I was our first remote control too! We would have thought it silly to "need" something like that! But here we are ... not able to live without it! LOL!! I almost will not watch tv without it. I agree we need beepers on the remotes... but we'd probably loose the base! lol!!

Oh, sure... it really is an easy answer.. BUT.. what if it's ten seconds from the start of your favorite show or the show you've been waiting all week to watch.. or it's 5 minutes into the playoffs!!! ugh!!! There's no time to go buy another!! And... since you cannot find the remote you can't set your DVR to record it either!!!

Well I always put my remote controls up. I am very good about that, but having a two year old running around well thats just it. He hides everything and if I dont find it that day then I just may not find it for weeks. There are times where he hides sippy cups for weeks before I find them hidden under dressers or behind the tv stand. Well two months ago he hid one remote. Well I dealt with it for a few weeks untill he lost the second remote. I started pulling up everything and luckily found both remotes. Well last week you guessed it he hid another remote. I still haven't found it yet. He is real tricky and I dont have the time or energy to do that kind of search again.

I really do lol! The easy option would to just get up and change the channel myself, but i always spend ages looking for the conrtols for some reason, its like just a reaction to losing something, "to find it!". Im not lazy or anything, i WOULD get up and change the channel, but for some reason i just prefer using the controls!

Lol, yea I do get frustrated when I can't find the remote. Actually, it becomes difficult to keep all the remotes at their respective places. I have a remote for my music player, one for DVD player, one for TV, another one for AC and one for my PC as well.. Gosh! Its such a mess when even one of them goes missing..

Sheesh!! You may need to designate a specific drawer as a "remote" drawer so you can keep all of them in the same place!! I can't imagine if more than one of them comes up missing!! ugh!! If you have the drawer you can keep like wii controls and other elctrical gadgets in there too!!

no not me. my daughter broke my remote nearly 3 years ago and my tv was useless. On occassion, I watched the tv in my other daughter's room but I'm not a tv person so replacing the remote was bottom on my list of priorities. I did recently replace it and can now use my tv again.

It's good to not be a good tv watcher, but you're still a little attached since you found an alternative way to catch some! :) Then you sprung for the money to get another remote.. which makes it lf at least a little importance!! lol!!

Just like my wife. Panic if there is no TV remote or TV channel that she was like. She is very disciplined watching TV. Sometimes I like to hide the TV remote or changed TV channel number, and she witnessed the search for a loss. But I wonder, why change the battery for the remote can change the TV channel? Or I misinterpret?

Nah, I can live if my tv's remote control is gone. As the matter of facts, we don't have a remote now since it's damaged by someone and can't be use again. I don't intend to buy a new one yet. My only problem is when my DVD player's remote control gone or not working. How can I control the DVD then? There's button on the player but only the basic of Play, Pause, Next and Previous. I hate it when I can control my DVD.

That sux!!! I never own a portable player but I know how many episodes in a series. If you need to keep going back to the root to continue, I better stick with the DVD player at home. There's at least hundreds of episodes in one season. At the DVD player will play it continuously after the Play button.

lol!! It's the same addiction; just a different remote!! lol!! I have a portable dvd player that you can only navigate through the menu with the remote. WHy would they make it like that, I wonder? It's okay when you just put in a movie and press play, but we are watching seasons of shows and you have to go back to the root menu each time to select the next episode! I get a little frustrated when the remote acts like it's not going to work!

I don't freak when I can't find the remote control, because I work from 9 to 5 and rarely watch TV. But my mom does freaks when she lost the remote control or she can't find her favorite channel because something wrong with the remote . Usually she would call me and ask me to give guidance of what she should do to fix the remote. So it's more like online tutorial for her
