How many times in your life have you been called for jury duty? Have you ever actually been chosen for a jury? I just got called for my first time, and everyone told me not to worry because you almost never get picked. So guess what? I got chosen to be on the jury for a criminal trial.

I have only been called for Jury Duty once when I actually had to even go. I answered te lawyers questions, the way I knew they wouldn't want me too so I wouldn't have to be a part of it. (It was a DWI case) They accidently called me and I was pissed, however, one of the lawyers objected and I didn't have to stay on the jury. Had it been a criminal case, that might have interested me. Maybe your's will be interesting! I did my civic duty for the afternoon and got my 6 dollar check!

They did the majority of the juror questioning with the whole pool of 50 people in the room. I'm well aware of some less-than-desirable answers that will get you out of jury duty, but I didn't want to make myself look like an a-hole in front of that many people. What if one of them ends up being a potential employer someday? It just wasn't a chance I wanted to take.

You are smart. I managed to do it without looking like an idiot. I just disagreed in a rational way. Good luck!

I was called for jury once but I wasn't the final pick. It seemed to me that the ones who were picked were highly opinionated people. That was the perception I got. Also it wasn't a criminal trial.

Wow!! Most of the time everyone I know that goes to these things never get chosen. Most of the time it is because of being a hardship thing for them. I know I have been sent these letters a couple of times and usually am able to get out of them even before going. But for me it would be a hardship so I am sure I would never have to serve. I just cannot believe that they only pay $10 a day though as well.

Hello thyst07 , I have been called to jury duty 5 times through out my life time. I actually was sent down because I guess I was yawning and they held that against me. I admit I was sleepy but I had nothing to do so I was hoping to be able to serve on a jury. The next day I was dismissed altogether and have not been called since which is good now because I don't have any way to get to the court house now.
