Who Cleans the Litter Box?

I brought this up to Hubby how since he doesn't change the litter boxes he can do "dog logs" detail in the yard. And of course he commented bout not helping with the litter boxes anymore because I"m not pregnant, but they are his cats too!!! So I ask my feline loving friends out there who cleans the litter box in your home? & how often does someone other than you clean it?

i have a damaged sense of smell, guess who won that lottery? most of the time i do it..once in a while i can guilt my bro into doing it,usually when i'm doing a huge stack of dishes he made most of. i don't mind though,i love my cats.i am debating buying them one of those catgenie things though.i think it would be more sanitary as a whole for them.

I guilt hubby into it from time to time moreso in winter though to take care of the dumping. If you try one of those fancy litter boxes you'll have to tell me if it works worth your wild or not. I kinda wish I could be super lazy and turn them into farm cats so they can do their business outside *LOL* but I don't want them to be wild either.... someday if I ever get my deam house.

Hopefully it has some sort of warranty on it that it's worth spending that kind of money. $99 is sure better than $300 that's for certain. Sometimes I wish I lived in the country and I could just have some barn cats that live in the house in winter and hang out wherever all spring-fall :)

That's one of my son's chores. I'm sure he's not happy about it, but it started when I was pregnant. My husband isn't hardly ever around, and it's too hard to get him to do things he doesn't want to do. I hate to waste his precious time at home. It would take me hours to convince him to do it, we'd be mad at each other all night, and we'd have to go through this each time I needed it cleaned or changed. It was easier to do myself! So I got my son in the habit of at least changing it for me, and I'd still scoop it. As the pregnancy got further along I had to get him to do it all. And it pretty much stuck that it became his chore.

Yay that your son is still in the habbit of doing it. I try to get my hubby and he says the "well you are not pg anymore & you say they are "YOUR cats" so you clean up after them" Wich is fine and dandy. But I told him to find a new home for the dog and he hasnt' so I told him then if we keep him it's up to him to scoop his logs & do you think he does???

"Bribery" sometimes works in those instances ;0) Add that doggy doo to my list of reasons to send the dog off pack'n *sigh*

Even if my husband did have normal hours, I sure don't expect to get him to do things around the house, regardless what they are. I can't get him to pick up his socks, so I wouldn't expect to be able to get him to pick up dog doo.

5 weeks ago the other roommate had surgery and since then I've been the person dumping the litter Now the roomie (not the other one who had surgery) and I do the job together, I dump the pans, and make sure any of the soiled stuff in pan is scraped out, and she puts the trash bag liners and litter in them. Then I put them back into place. We go together out to dump the trash buckets. We SHOULD be scooping the pans, but that seldom happens, can you say - LAZY?

I hear you I hate to scoop the pans too. And since ours are in the basement, it's one of those out of sight out of mind kind of things ya know?

My mom has brought my cat at home and since then she and my dad cleans up the litter box regularly an I have never one this because they are always here to do it. But if my mom would have aske me then I would be doing it because I love my cat. I asked my boyfriend to bring a cat an he said that he will but no way to remove the litter box afterwards so it will be my sole responsibility so I have decided to give time to both of us before bringing a cat at home.

My son used to clean all the litter boxes...God Bless him!....but now that he moved out I have to do it, and I hate it. Truthfully, I never realized how much he did when he lived with me.

That was nice of him. Maybe when he stops by you can remind him what a good job he did and if he'd like to do it again for old times sake? I hate the stink from the litter stuck @ the bottom of the box, that's why I like the summer, I can just hose it on the grass and it's all good except in winter... I'm outta luck getting it as clean as I'd like too.
