Are you always happy with the prize won at lucky draw?

I have won a few lucky draws, but not always happy with the prize. Recently, a casino in the neighboring country called, to inform me that I won in a lucky draw. Well I know about the lucky draw, and I want to win the top prize, which includes five thousands bucks free money to gamble. Too bad I did not win the prize I want. I won the Valentino leather product. They were not able to inform me the exact value of the product I won. And they would not send it to my house. Anyway, this brand, Valentino, is not popular in Singapore, and I hardly find anyone who knows about this brand. Sigh, that means I still have to make another trip to redeem the prize! And that means more spending for the accommodation and the food! Hopefully the value of the whatever product is enough to compensate for the trip there. Do you have similar experience? Are you always happy with the prize won at lucky draw?

I've been to a casino once, when I watched a concert at Casino Filipino in Manila. The guard even asked for my id card because they thought that I was a not allowed to enter the place. But well since it's my first time to be in a casino, my aunt let me try some games there. (Her husband was a casino worker that time). I won tokens which not made me happy at all because I really wanted to have that sparkling keychain. I really don't have an idea that I have won a better prize that what I'm aiming for.

Hi Cathy, you are so lucky! I want the tokens, rather than some unknown leather products which they can't even tell me the value. I do not mind collecting the gift if it is an instant draw. Too bad it is not, and I have to make another trip just to collect the gift. Feel tired! Hate to travel all the way there, to collect a prize of unknown value. Hope it's something valuable and something I like.

Well maybe if I try again and be lucky I might win tokens and be happy. I'm quite young at that time so my preferences are a bit weird. And I don't even know that tokens are more valuable that leather gifts or some sparkling things that time. My friend is usually very happy and even text all of her friends whenever she won tokens.

i haven't won any major prize yet at some draws or something. some of the prizes i have won are books, bags, school supplies, stuff toys, rice cooker, electric fan, airpot, dining wares, christmas decors, gift certificates mostly worth about $5-$10-$20 and cash prizes of about $20 mostly. except for the stuff toys, books, cash and gift certificates which i have won on the spot... i've given away everything else to whoever wants to pick it up from where the prize was drawn. since i travel a lot and prizes are won at different areas a bit far from home, it would be inconvenient as well as impractical for me to get the prizes myself. so if one of my friends called me to inform me of the prize, i will just give it to him/her for my appreciation of his/her call. i'm always happy that i have won something and grateful for whatever prize it may be. but i have to be practical also if it's worth getting it myself. i know that the prizes i have won and given away were needed and appreciated by my friends so we're all happy with the set-up.

Hi Mylesnarvaez, you are really lucky. I think the total value of the lucky draw comes up to a few hundred dollars, even a thousand dollars. I agree that the hassle of collecting the prize is not worth the value of the prize. For my case, I can't even ask anyone to collect on my behalf. They have to verify the passport, before handling over the prize. This casino is in another country, so I still have to pass through custom and endures a 6 hours drive, check into the hotel, just to collect a prize which I do not even know the value. I hope not just a stupid coin purse.

Recently I entered a raffle at a friend's daughter's school (my girls used to go there also before we moved). Since she is in LA and I am in Sacramento, I asked her to select a give that would be easy to mail, like gift cards. Well, they did the raffle differently this year and you get what you get. I won a coffee maker. Kind of hard to mail. So when I was in LA, she gave it to me. I wasn't too thrilled about taking a coffeemaker on the plane home. If I had driven it would have been OK. So I gave the coffeemaker to my Aunt and Cousin to keep if they wanted, and sell on e-bay if they didn't want it.

Hi Dawnald, I know how you feel about carrying the coffee maker onboard the plane. That's how I feel about collecting the "leather product" prize. This casino is located in the neighboring country. I have to clear custom, endures a six hours journey, just to collect the prize, and have to pay for hotel too. Plus, I got to collect it within a month, how tiring!

Hello Scheng1!!! At least you got than thing. What exactly is it I don't understand. I am not been able to even get selected in the lucky dram for the consolation at all. When it comes to lottery, I always return empty handed. I have lived about 21 years of life and still, no any winnings in lottery. So don't ask me, it hurts . I want to feel the happiness of winning a lottery in my life hehe... Happy mylotting...

Hi Nzalheart, I am happy to win any lottery draw, just not happy that I have to travel all the way there to collect the prize. They will not deliver to my house, and they refused to tell me the value of the prize won. If the value of the prize won is less than the money I need to spend to travel there, I will feel bad. That casino is in the neighboring country, need at least 6 hours driving, plus the toll fees for travelling on the highway, and at least one night accommodation there. So sickening! Too much trouble for some unknown leather product.

Well, I'm usually quite happy if I really win a lucky draw prize. So far, the biggest prize I had won is a Toshiba laptop. As I got no use for it, I sold the laptop over at eBay, and got back some cash... There's also another prize I had won many years ago, which I thought was quite unique. It was a special "fans" gathering for Wakin (Emil) Chau in a special room. Only less than 100 of us were able to go there and listen to his singing and talking for around 1.5 hours. At the end of the session, there's even a special autograph signing and photography session.

Hi Gcorp, you are very lucky. Most people do not win lucky draw prize that costs more than a hundred bucks, and you win such unusual prize. Actually some of the most useless prizes are won at the company function, like a packet of potato chips or something. Do you have a photo of yourself with Wakin Chau? I think all your friends are envious of your good luck.

Well, I must admit I was lucky to win a laptop. However, that's the only big prize I had won. The rest of the prizes won are mostly quite small, (and sometimes useless). I do admit that some prizes won during company function are not very good, but it's better than winning nothing at all... As for the prize for the Wakin Chau's gathering, I did not take a picture with him. I just took a photo of him alone. However, I'm not very sure if I still have the photo...

There was a raffle drawing in my community a few months back where I won 500.00 USD! I was so happy! I'm sad to hear your prize kind of sucked but it's free so take that and run with it! I just used my prize to pay off one bill and from there I'm still living life the way it was before I had one. Not such a big prize but a very helpful one. :)

Hi Djsimonmlb, cash is stil the best prize. Everyone loves cash, and has use for it. Actually I do not mind winning any prize, but the collection really sucks. They will not send the prize to me. I still have to travel there to collect the prize, and this casino is not in my country! Sucks! Hope the value of the prize is enough to compensate for my effort and money going there.

scheng1, First of all, congratulations on your recent luck with the lucky draw. Nowadays, lucky draw items are never much of a fancy unless they are rank at the top 3, if you know what I mean. Nevertheless, I am always happy to win a prize in any draw in the namesake of novelty. In all my years, I have won numerous prizes i.e. shopping vouchers, cinema passes, electrical appliances, travel accessories, costume jeweleries, decoration ornaments, hotel free stays and even air tickets. In all, these are most of the time done in the name of goodwill and promotion sake. Yet, through it all, just accept it and you can never win everything and everytime like what's the use of a 3 nights hotel accommodation at a 5 star overseas beach resort when the only way to enjoy it will be to buy a double return air or ferry ticket? Not forgetting to add some budget allowance for expenses on meals and sightseeing. As for your situation, I will just go about and find out when the claim is expiring and if I can help it make some holiday plans. After all, I am sure holidays are around the corner so why not?So, I hope that your lady luck will continue to be with you, who knows you might just strike the grand jackpot on this trip. Have a nice day. P.S. Oh, in case you did win that grand jackpot, don't forget about your friend here.

Hi Skysuccess, you are so lucky! Thanks for your blessing! I will tell ladyluck and the slot machines that you send your blessings, maybe they will let me win the big jackpot! The casino in Malaysia does not have very big jackpot, the most is more than a million Malaysian ringgit, not as big as those in Las Vegas. I will tell you when I win the big jackpot! Guess I will jump up and down, and shoots through the roof!

I have never won a drawing, believe it or not! If you don't want that prize, save your money and let them have it. You are actually paying for your "winnings" when you have to travel there and pay for accommodation. I just looked at Valentino and some of their bags are going for nearly $3,000! They are ugly. You could probably sell it on eBay to someone here in the States, where they love that kind of stuff and the brand is popular. But it doesn't make sense to spend money just to get a really ugly bag that you don't want.

Hi Dragon54, actually I seen the collection of leather products for the lucky draw. Those leather products look nice, not those ugly pictures from the Internet. But I do not know what exactly I won. It can be anything from a handbag to a purse. If it is just a miserable wallet, then it's not worthwhile to go all the way there to collect it. If it's the handbag, that's better, at least the value of the product is more than the costs of making the trip.

Hi Mermaidivy, it's the collection of the prize that really kills my mood. This place is in another country, and it's a casino, whenever you go there, you know that you have to spend money. This casino is located on a mountain, where there is nowhere you can go if you do not gamble, and do not want to spend money. And they refused to tell me exactly what I have won. "leather product" can mean anything from a leather handbag to a leather coin purse. Sigh, still have to make a trip there to collect the unknown prize, and to spend money on accommodation there.

I do not win often, but when it happens I'm always happy and greatful, regardless the prize won! Honestly, I am more happy about being the lucky one to win the prize, rather than the amouny of money involved. My last win was at bingo, altough I won only a few pounds it was great fun!

Hi Scheng, To be honest, NO. Because there is difference between the ideality and reality! The more your expect, you more disappointment you will get. To me, lucky draw is just a smart way to let the customer spend money and everyone think they are that lucky, but unfortunately we are not that lucky as we thought we are.. I am sure everyone likes surpirse. Just take it as a surprise for yourself, that might make you feel better.

Hi Vivianchen, I'm not saying that I do not feel happy to win the prize. What I am not so happy about is that, I have to travel all the way there to collect the prize. That casino is not even in my country, it's located in my neighboring country. Some of the lucky draw prizes include accommodation, mine apparently does not. So I still have to travel out of country, drive 6 hours there, spend money for a night accommodation, without knowing the exact prize I won. They refused to tell me what kind of leather product. It could be a handbag or just a wallet!

haha Puneetchhokra, fortuately you did not win a million dollars with that lottery ticket, else you would spend two million dollars for a party! At least lottery winnings are in cash, and you can use it in whatever way you like. My prize is a "leather product", and they refused to tell me what kind of leather product! Plus I have to go to another country to collect the prize, they wont send to my house.

haha Bradpete, you are a happy-go-lucky person. I think the happiest moment for you is to get the prize and carry them home. I will be happier if they could send the lucky draw prize to my home instead of me taking time to go there. The journey takes at least six hours of driving, and more if we stop for lunch and coffee break. Plus I just been there less than a month ago, to play the slot machines. Not really keen to go so soon! Sigh, this lucky draw is more trouble than anything.

This casino is in a neighboring country, so I have to travel out of town and spend money on accommodation just to collect a prize of unknown value. I can not remember the last time I even entered anything like that. I doubt that the prize is worth an equal amount of what it will cost you to travel to redeem it. Those things are usually about getting you to spend money.

Hi Canellita, I agree, with this casino, they really make it so difficult to redeem the prize. Most companies will deliver the lucky draw prize to your house. I have won a few lucky draw prizes, none requires me to travel out of country to get the prize. If I don't go, I will not know what I win. If I go, I will be disappointed or scream for joy, depends on the value of the leather product

Hi Canellita, that's the whole problem, I can't ask anyone to claim the prize, the management of casino is really smart, they want to see identity card or passport to verify the identity! Sigh, I much perfer the first prize, it's a 3 days 2 nights stay in super deluxe room, and 5 thousands bucks slot credits to play with! I much prefer using free money to play.
