National German Chocolate Cake Day

June 11, is National German Chocolate Cake Day in the U.S. So do you like German Chocolate Cake? What is your favorite cake to eat? Mine is the Italian Cream cake my mom makes, but I wouldn't turn down a slice of German Chocolate cake.

the main thing wrong with the german chocolate cake is that nasty ice - I mean, coconut? YUCK!!!

I'm not a big coconut fan, but I don't seem to mind it in the icing. Maybe that it is smoothered in sugar and butter.

I don't like coconut in anything. I also don't care for pineapple, but will tollerate it in upside down cake

You know I've never made a pineapple upside down cake, but I really like it. My mom used to make it. Wonder why I don't take the time to make one?

German chocolate is good on occasion--I usually want it for the coconut icing on top. My favorite is probably carrot cake with cream cheese icing, or cheesecake. There's this amazing cheesecake place in North Carolina that makes their cheesecakes from scratch. I was bought one for my birthday one year, and it was delicious!

The carrot cake w/cream chees icing is my husband's favorite, but neither of the kids like. I love cheesecake.
