Do you listen to your voice-mail messages?

Or do you just call the person back that you see from the caller-id? Many times I will leave someone a message and they'll call me back asking what I wanted. I can tell that they don't listen to the messages because if they did, they'd know what I want! I actually had someone call me back the other day and since I wasn't able to talk to them, they left me a message with the information that I had asked about on my message to them. I had to call them back and congratulate them for actually listening to the message before calling me back. I actually know someone that NEVER checks voice-mail messages and was very happy when the mailbox was finally full and people couldn't leave her a message any more. So how do you deal with voice-mail messages? I listen to them so I know what the person wants.

Hey reiny! You have made a very good point! I agree with you! It is really very annoying to have left a voicemail message saying what you are calling about and have the person call you back and have no idea what the reason was that you were calling them about in the first place! The only time I don't listen to a voicemail message is if I just miss a call and I am calling the person right back immediately and it is faster to just call them back then listen to the message! But, other than that I always listen to the voicemail message first! It saves time and at least you know how to respond when you do return the call!

That's pretty much how I feel too... Sometimes I'm too quick in calling them and they are still leaving me a message so I get their voicemail...

I always check for message when I come back in doors we have elderly relatives who sometimes just want to chat for a while.I will be old one day and would hate to think there was no one to talk to.Or it could be the school ,a friend wanting to call on a certain day,or someone inviting me out to lunch.

Exactly - you just never know what the message could be unless you listen to it :)

Yeah, I don't like calling people after 9pm. I think that's too late, even though I'm up until at least 11pm!

I also rarely call people before noon on the weekends. My dad never let us because that was rest time for parents. It's stuck with me all these years, although there are people I will call as early as 10am.

I hadnt thought of saturdays as a rest day for parents...However when i was growing up my dad was home 1 week and gone for 2 weeks my mom was a stay at home mom so I'm sure the days we were home for school felt more busy to her than the days she was home alone without three of us messing everything she got done!

I always listen to my voicemail. I usually only get voicemail when I am in a no signal area and then I listen first to see who called the call them back.

Most of my friends just look at the missed calls and hit redial. I always listen to my messages though, because sometimes you don't have to call them back, they're just telling you something.

I always have a full mailbox because I never check my messages. Recently I found this cool application for my cell phone that lets you preview your messages & delete the ones your not interested in. It's called "visual voicemail". You can listen to the messages you want without having to waste time listening to the ones you don't want. It's pretty cool.

I check mine and almost always delete them right away. Rarely do I need to save one and when I do I'll forget it's there until it's almost expired.
