I just commented this on a discussion, and wanted to get others views so i though i would make a discussion about this particular issue. I was just typing my response thinking as i went and it suddenly came into my head as i was thinking.
WHAT IF.....
At the begining of time there is 2 main beliefs, One being religious, that god created the world. And one scientific, that we evolved from monkeys. What if neither of these were true? What if right back at the begining of time, when only animals where alive on this planet, somewhere on another planet millions of miles away. A species called "Humans" where slowely destroying their plannet, just as we are now. Being smart, and having great abilities to build things, they transport in big ships selected males and selected females to reproduce the whole species. So they set up a new life on "New Earth". They have children, their children have children. Eventually the origionals die, and what is left is children who grow up knowing nothing else. This seems like home to them. Slowely they develop a flare for building and they grow smarter and smarter. Until we ended up with where we are today!
Did anyone else ever think about this?!?!?
Do we think this is possible?
Or another crazy idea of mine?
Feel free to argue/debate, this is what i asked for. I want to know peoples oppinions, this has made me curious now!

No, sorry, it is not original. Not only that, it doesn't answer the original question: where did we REALLY come from. Your aliens would have the same dilemna of God(s) versus evolution.
To view your theory in action: most recently it appeared in the now-on-DVD-series Battlestar Galactica's final episode (the new series). A version of it supplies a backstory for the Christian Science religion. AND Erich Von Daniken wrote several books (the first is Children of the Gods) about "evidence" he believes he found about all of us descending from alien stock.

Ahh ok, thanks for telling me that! Ive never seen/read either of those, so i didnt know but i did suspect that someone else had probably thought of it at some point! I know it doesnt answer "where did we REALLY come from", i was just kinda meaning "How did we get HERE" i guess when i wrote it, what is your view on that? God or evolution?

Why can't we have a God who works through evolution?

Hmmm thats true! Never really thought about it like that! Except the whole "Adam and Eve" Story kinda ruins that, because adam and eve would have needed to evolve from something, that isnt explained. So i guess it is implied that God doesnt work through evolution a lot. That is a really interesting view point though

You have quite an imagination, Jo. That is what they need in the film making industry. That's the Star Trek stuff, and Star Wars, and ET, and Battlestar Galactica. That is also Men In Black and Superman. Probably you have watched a lot of movies and even television. X Files dwelt on the subject matter lengthily in the 90s.
As for the monkey, I do not hail from them, scientifically or otherwise. I am contented being man. Others though might have come from monkeys. I wouldn't pursue the topic though. The monkeys will be offended.

Yup, I believe in God. Totally. Completely. Positively. Absolutely.

Seen ET, Superman and I think i remember watching part of men in black, other than that not seen all the others. Only 17 so would have been watching kids programs in the 90's hehe! I sometimes wonder if i am still a monkey hehe, i used to love to climb trees and swing from things! But i guess both ideas have some issues around them, do you belive in God then? Or neither?

Your theory is not all that bad but it has a problem. The problem is the genetic evidence that shows that all life on this planet is interrelated and can be traced back to a common ancestor.
There is a possibility that life on this planet was seeded by comets or meteors. If this is true than we and all other life on this planet are aliens.

Yep i guess, unless we evolved from an animal on a different plannet that had similar genetics to monkeys/apes on this plannet? Therefor we put 2 and 2 together and made 3, didnt quite get the right answer hehe. But yeah, i definatly agree my idea is flawed. It just came to me when i was typing, thought i would share it to get others views, so thaks for the comment! And yeah, it would be slightly ironic i think, we spend loads of time searching for aliens and the whole time, WE are them! But i guess, if there is Aliens out there... doesnt that automatically make us aiens? We would be aliens to them.

Dear friend,
I could see that there is an ocean to be known, hence I do consider that myself as Alien if other alien meets me or may every new creature they meet. May be who know this earth is being watched. May be there is lot to be known and nothing can be taken as false until it has reasonal and believable justifications.

Isn't this what the religion Scientology is all about? Aliens modified monkeys and created humans by using their own genetic makeup. Actually I don't know what their religion is about. I only heard bits and pieces here and there on the internet. No. I don't believe in stuff like that.

Not sure, dont know what religion scientology is, do you know?
What i find strange, is how come nothing else has evolved to be similar to us. WHy was it just one kind of monkey evolved to be humans, and why did no other species evolve in quite the same way. Other animals do evolve, but none anywhere near as much as we did! Do you know the explanation for this? I would be interested to know if you do.
And yep, fair view not to belive in it. Im not 100% sure if i do, although there is millions of other planets out there, and i think it is quite unlikely that we are the only planet with life form on it
Thanks for the comment!

The only thing I'm sure that human being isn't a part of this system. We were discussing one question with my friends. One skeptic wanted to proof that human being is an animal. We had guy in our company that gave this example:"You and your dog are both animals, right? You're watching the sunset now.Does your dog see the setting sun?Yes,he does.Does he admire the sunset?Does he think the colors of the sky are beautiful?.No.Why is that?".This strange creature - human being loves enslave, control, kill,is always dissatisfied. He eats everything from eggs to scorpions. He even creates his own foods.
Does this barbarian belong here?I don't think so.
So,you're idea is close to the truth.
