Hello all... Recently there was a case in my country where a maid abused her employer's child. She said she did it out of revenge because apparently her employer had been slapping and kicking her for every small mistakes. It sounds scary that your child had to take the abuse just because their parents have been ill-treating the maid. Really freaks me out just thinking of getting a maid.. If u have any similar experience with a maid or a nanny do share with me here... Thanks..

Man that is one messed up story. Just shows you what goes around comes around. It shouldn't freak you out though about getting a maid I mean you have to understand that the maid was being treated bad by her employer. I mean why should employers do that to their employees. Of course people might seek revenge no matter how small or high it is. The way I see it is do unto others as you would have them do to you. I agree with you though that the maid is insane for doing that. I think it's not cool for someone to do that to a child.

I agree. Sometimes employers treat their helpers like dirt and that is very wrong. Karma do exist, what goes around comes around. What i don't like is that the receiver of the revenge is an innocent child. Not good. I condemn it.

I have an experience but slightly different from yours. Actually, the maids don't get the pay they deserve and this compels them to steal stuffs. Same thing happened in my house. We noticed it when we realized some valuable ornaments have gone missing. We ignored it at first but then we caught the maid red-handed. In the case you mentioned above, I think there is some fault on part of that employer as kicking and slapping maids is not so common these days.

Yeah, thanks for sharing. I guess we can't always blame the maid but still taking it out on a young innocent child is just too much.

I guess my son did suffer a few little abuses from his nanny way, way back when he was only 1-5 years old. For 5 years my son suffered; he hated his nanny, and clang to me whenever I arrive home as if relieved from the burden of having to stay with a not-so-gentle nanny. But it's all past now, my son is almost 24 years old and we never heard from that nanny again. I think she must have already gotten married; it's good my son survived the ordeal. It's not really the kind where my son had telltale marks of abuse; if that happened, that nanny would have landed in hell. But from the remarks of my son, we thought there was a little physical abuse to discipline him. Of course, we called her attention, which she naturally denied. No, we never abused any of our maids at home....

I can see where that story is going. The maid goes through a trauma of being abused by the employee and stories like that is nothing new. I've been and lived in the Philippines, known and heard of maids that went through a series of issues where the household members have treated their maids harshly if they didn't do a great job. It is a sad thing. I can see where why the maid just snapped, even though it wasn't right for her to abuse the child. The maid in her situation just went berserk and probably couldn't take it anymore. Definitely this story is sad indeed and chaotic.

There are some horrible experiences mentioned where nannies and maids are concerned. But what employers should always remember that the ones that they employed to cook, wash and look after them and their children should be treated with respect. I even heard of maids after cooking the food eat out some of the portion and then water it down and when the employers come they get that part. If the employer is a cook then they will know that someone is not right with the food but if none of them cannot cook then dog nyam dem suppa. This maid was wrong to ill treated the child and should be charge because this is a crime.
