Problem with computer

If I have a flash drive or any portable drive including a CD the computer wont open it and say that it consists of 0 bytes. When you double click on it, it comes up with a error message saying something like: Cannot access F:/ drive. Or something like that. please help its really annoying.

What's your operating system you are using? Those are happens if you are running with old windows (windows 98 and NT) which you have to install device driver.
